To think Italy has just announced the mandatory forced quarantine as China did.
That’s close to home but can’t play the nimby “huh, us?” card lol. A huge amount of elderly are being wiped out.
Some would say that’s a good thing, I’m just too naive to allow myself to think like that.
I disagree on some points.
I not only emptied my personal account, I had my company prez take most of our money out of the bank.
It WILL fail or have a long holiday regardless of my personal actions.
We will need cash for payroll and operating expenses.
I put my personal money into preps such as many yards of good garden soil, seed, fuel, fertilizer, fencing supplies, dairy cattle, new poultry, etc. My farm will produce food this year. Will gift it to the hungry and unfortunate.
I had my the prez, my son, buy enough supplies for my company to last one year or more so we can stay in business.
Ref the elderly, that would be moi. I think I still have a lot that the young people need including tech knowledge and wisdom. They are all learning now that the Old Man warned them about CV back in JAN. They laughed then; now they all prep.
I will NOT go to the hospital if ill. I will have meds, oxygen concentrator, etc. here to treat my wife and I. However, we are in voluntary self-quarantine, so our chance of near term infection is low. When I MUST go out, I wear PPE.
Ref the fall of civilization, I feel a great sadness. We accomplished so much and came so far. Our ship is headed for the rocks due to the hubris and incompetence of China IMHO.
All of those people dying! The incompetence of bureaucrats and pols on display.
The vanity, the stupidity, the petty arguments. All for naught.
If I survive long enough, I may write to future generations of what happened and why. I think I will write it on clay tablets and then fire them to ceramic so that it may survive the cataclysms.
