The thread has actually been pretty tame. It was the weird inconsistencies of what happened vs what would normally be expected that brought the topic up.

Even I was left scratching my head at first. When I think of a biker club, I imagine a bunch of dentists riding back roads on the weekends. When I think of a biker gang, I imagine a bunch of burly guys who look like they could be in ZZ Top.

It was the behavior that was inconsistent with what I was picturing in my mind. Leaving, coming back with guns, shooting up their own hangout, and having such lousy aim, was more consistent with the M.O. of a street gang rather than the typical biker club or traditional biker gang.

I was surprised to learn there were black biker gangs too (then again, I haven't been back to the USA in a long time).

After greaser gangs fell off the map, the only white gangs I saw were motorcycle gangs, and I had never seen a black motorcycle gang.

I grew up in a poor area where some people would call the residents "white trash". I knew guys who were members of the Pagans. It was not a crowd I hung around with, but still had small talk with or said hello to sometimes (it was a small town), and they never caused me any problems. One of them even had my back once. They used to good-naturedly tease me for having a moped.

They had rules. Everyone in town knew their rules, so you didn't have to worry about running afoul of them as long as you didn't do something that would require them, as per their rules, to seek retribution.

I have to wonder, do these black biker gangs have any rules? Or can you fall prey to them despite not doing anything that should set them off?
