I think a 'real' expert should decide how long ..... Not a government official - but a team of NON government related physicians who do not have their hand in the government cookie jar. I just said 6-8 wks, cuz that would cover any possible reinfections. It may be too long, and could inconvenience some who do not have food to last that long. So let's just go with a month. Everyone should be able to afford a month of food - and if not, the government should give them food for free if they are penniless. It would take a good 'week' to get the word out and get the lockdown started, cuz some will not know cuz they are dumb F*s and don't pay attn to reality, or read, listen to news. What about the druggies and crackheads? They are not going to stop going on streets to deal their drugs. Russia and some other country have implemented a penalty for breaking quarantine. That is another option ..... I say start with the 3 wks. and then extend to 3 more weeks at least. Also, each city needs to have a 1-800 Call center that is full staffed with physicians. Courier delivery of medication to everyone who needs it would be necessary. Or mail if planned enough in advance. (as in 'now'.) Last Edited by Buffalo_Gal_13 on 03/11/2020 12:40 AM |

Abbott has been quite proactive in most past cases. I am sure he is watching this closely and it would not surprise me to see him take action. I think, however, that is is 'waiting' to the possible demise of some Texan's lives. We already have a small clusters starting to form (Houston, Dallas mainly) - but it won't be very long at all before the clusters intensify. I'd say by next wk. TX will be clustering pretty hard in some of the major cities, whether it is reported or not ...... WHY? because they are NOT releasing data as to where these folks have been in the cities, so that folks can avoid those areas (money inspired I'm sure.) Does HIPPA actually prevent them from releasing 'locations' - I mean they could at least give 'general' locations, not addresses, or names of businesses, etc. Even general locations would help substantially, IMHO! If nothing else, let's all try to keep it bumped! :) There has to be a way around the Hippa laws we should be able to know where they went where they shopped where they went to church to protect ourselves without revealing identity which I respect they need to stay private. But for the sake of our children our families our elderly they also have a great responsibility to protect the public as well. I have heard there are several hospitals that have people already under suspicion but that information is not being released due to Hippa laws which I think is have great disservice to Houston and Texans. I agree there will be clusters, give it a week or two it will get crazier. I did see military move in a convoy on 610 last Thursday then and practice drills out on the DPS office yard after hours same day, coincidence? Maybe. There were huge helicopters with responders all in black. Hopefully they cancel Rodeo, like tomorrow-it goes on till the 22nd I think,by then it will be everywhere if not already. Looks like Texans will have to protect Texans just like we did during Harvey when the tptb did not. So Let's keep this bumped and stay vigilant! |
