History repeating today: black plague from China spreads to Italy and European continent
The infamous black plague responsible for the death of approximately 1/2 of the entire world population began in China (specifically the Gobi Desert) in approximately 1328-1330AD. From this origin in China, it spread pretty slowly until it reached and ravaged Italy in the 1340s, and then of course it spread throughout Europe decimating the world's population (not only in the 1340s but also in the many years that followed).

These original years of the black plague's beginning(circa 1328AD) were very unique because Catholicism reached its pinnacle of decadence at that time, prompting revolt by the people. In particular, in this year (1328) the black plague became pandemic, which changed the world – in only a ‘little time’ the plague brought the church and the world into a state of both chaos and genocide.

Note: the black plague didn’t travel strongly in the wilderness (compare populated cities of Europe), so the wilderness provided natural protection.

Matthew 7:2 & 7:12 are a prophecy specific to you, "By the judgment that you judge, you will be judged. And by the measure that you measure, you will be measured.... Whatever you want a person to do to you, do also to them, for this is the law and the prophets."

Re: History repeating today: black plague from China spreads to Italy and European continent
From PBS, "No one knows exactly why, but in the late 1320s or early 1330s, bubonic plague broke out in China’s Gobi desert. Spread by flea-infested rats, it didn’t take long for the disease to reach Europe. In October of 1347, a Genoese ship fleet returning from the Black Sea — a key trade link with China — landed in Messina, Sicily. Most of those on board were already dead, and the ships were ordered out of harbor. But it was too late. The town was soon overcome with pestilence, and from there, the disease quickly spread north along trade routes — through Italy and across the European continent. By the following spring, it had reached as far north as England, and within five years, it had killed 25 million people — one-third of the European population."
