Numerous reports of large asteroids coming close to earth, India being hit by numerous meteors and volcanoes, earthquakes world wide.

In current civilization individual people possess very narrow bits of knowledge which are only useful in huge and complex structures. One person knows how to design the curve of a propeller, another knows the composition of material used to build this propeller and so on and so on, in isolation this knowledge is useless, particular modern technologies without global, or at least national networks of supply chains are completely useless. Even if we manage to preserve the whole knowledge and know-how, restoring all layers of technology from scratch is incredibly hard.

Your post confirmed my post. No offense, electricity production is STIL difficult with everything working. Semiconductor companies, precious metal mining, coal, fuel cracking facilities, OIL, nuclear deposition and fuel rod assembly distribution, etc. ALL OF THAT TAKES POWER!
