Pressure from whom? NYC is the leading city in the world, it is the center of the world's financial business, it is a leading intellectual center. People deeply care about it. The most prominent people in the world live there.

Hawaii? There are many other places with nice weather. So who will be exerting the pressure? I would suggest local Hawaiians use their freedom (there's a Republican term they probably haven't cared much about) to shop away from tourists and keep kids home from school.

Healthcare in Hawaii sucks especially if you are not on Oahu. Big Island healthcare is a joke, good luck if it spreads there, there are few hospitals and few first responders.

Healthcare everywhere is overstretched now. Get the mucus out, use garlic, serrapeptase, mucinex, whatever softens it and gets it out.

Don't let yourself get to the stage where you could be considered for admission to a hospital.

Hawaii is going for the herd immunity approach, that is a Darwinist approach, a survival of the fittest approach.

Children could be asymptomatic virus carriers into homes, the elderly, the community etc. They must be out of school and semi-quarantined. No contact with others in school, and six feet away from the elderly, etc.

Today is March 17th and there was a confirmed case of "community spread" out at Kualoa Ranch yesterday. They tape a lot of tv shows there and it's a high tourist spot. An employee tested positive and her family is now being tested. That's your "community spread".

Schools statewide are now closed until April 7th.

The date may get pushed back. Many mainland schools have cancelled all classed for the rest of the year so Hawaii will eventually follow. The gov is moving a little slow but he will have no choice but to react how the other states are and will cancel classes until it's safe for ALL the keiki to return.

All of the Department of Education offices in Hawaii will close on March 19th.
And no classes until April 7th and that date may get pushed out.

Hawaii lockdown goes into effect on Wednesday at midnight.

On Oahu, it goes into effect at 4:30 today (so roughly in an hour).

It’s a statewide and island curfew.

Hawaii has 77 cases of Covid19, mostly on the island of Oahu.

Schools are not closing because the state needs the money and every enrolled kid is $6,000 to the state. There are about 120k students enrolled in the Hawaii DOE right now. Gov. Ige doesn’t give a gotdamn about your kids. He traveled to Japan the Tuesday after Valentine’s Day to beg Japanese tourist to keep traveling to Oahu and now that there is a hold on tourism, he is relying on the state to collect money from the kids enrolled and that also keeps those bastards at the child welfare office busy too because they get a kickback ($$$) for every kid in their system too. Your kids are being used as pawns during this global pandemic. It’s about money, not being moral.
