Walmart Distribution center in Hammond to shut down after tomorrow.

Might be overkill for the northern part of the state, but seems prudent down here in southeast Louisiana.

Damn...kinda crazy it's just larger businesses...seems like he should just shut it all down if hes gonna go down that road

Wife to take sick mother in law to Lollie Kemp Charity hospital this am. Doors open in front when an ambulance driver came up. All internal doors locked. Almost no staff.

I was hearing the same yesterday, but didnt know the 250 employee detail. SE LA here.

Rouses meat dept in Hammond was wiped clean this am. Me and another cutter, all day yesterday. The dept usually does 6-7 thousand in sales on slow days, 10-12 on busy days. Holidays sometimes 13-14.
We did 24 thousand in sales just meat dept yesterday. Today was a madhouse too. I was cutting $ 20 lb Beef tenderloins 2 inches thick 2 to a pack and they were selling like cheap ground meat. Crazy!

Walmart Supercenter in Hammond to close at 8pm Sunday night. Not sure when reopen. Shits like dominoes.
I have to work tomorrow, will know more tomorrow and if Rouses will be closing.

Warehouse not being able to get supplies for grocery stores. Our truck drivers could not leave to deliver today because of the hours worked yesterday. So many hours down time before being able to drive again. We usually get a 6-7!am truck, it ran 5 hrs late today. Warehouses running out of stock aswell.

Lakeside Mall is open and I couldn’t believe hiw many people were there. More than Christmas traffic. People parking across Severn and walking to it even because there is no parking. Never seen that many people except during a parade walking on Severn...

Wow. That's beyond Xmas levels to park on Severn. I guess they think they will need a bunch of important stuff from Restoration Hardware and Bath and Body Works while sheltering in place.

Can't verify the poster but someone I trust shared a FB post from someone in Madisonville (St. Tammany Parish) who has a friend currently intubated in ICU and diagnosed with Covid. HE IS 45 YEARS OLD. She said he was diagnosed with the flu a week ago and was sent home...then it got worse and went back to hospital to get covid diagnosis.

Apparently she said he was in great health with no pre-existing conditions. But now INTUBATED.
