Re: So who's going to work tomorrow?
The company I work for gave us the option of working our regular hours, or taking off (unpaid) until April 6th.

I'll be there, but wonder how many won't. Last week, we hardly had anyone show...it was definitely a skeleton crew.

The President should order a nationwide lockdown if this is a real pandemic. Half-measures only give up the psyop for all to see.

Re: So who's going to work tomorrow?
Thankfully, I'm working from home this week. My company is instituting a new work schedule where half of their employees will work from home one week and half will work at the office, then the two groups will rotate their locations each week.

It was explained that when someone gets infected, which is inevitable, as "everyone is going to get it" (Yay!), the company will only lose half their employees. It was later clarified that "lose half" meant only temporarily due to illness, but the wording didn't exactly give me warm fuzzies. tounge

Since the incubation rate can be anywhere from 2-28 days, depending on the source, I'm really not looking forward to going in to the office the week after next.

Re: So who's going to work tomorrow?
I am a disabled housewife. My spouse is going to work. It sounds like he is going to have reduced hours though.

I heard a manager talking to an employee, telling her that they were cutting her hours to 35 hours but, they were going to pay her at 40 hours. She said that they would work out her hours and pay after the CV crisis was over.

If I was that employee, I would spend my spare time applying somewhere else. You know when the crisis is over, they are going to demand you work more than an hour of a day per week to make up for those hours given. I can tell now there is going to be some friggen employment abuse going on when this thing is done.

I'll be at work. The gov has freed $$ to cover the cost of employees taking time off--it will be covered. Your employer is not filing the right paperwork if you'll not be paid or they are pocketing the funds.

My gov offices have closed to the public until an unknown future date and we are paid if we take sick leave off because of a state of emergency being declared.

Actually I won't be. My boss called me a little after 9:30 tonight to tell me that we are now going to be closed.

lol My bosses are female. I'm not sure I'll be able to sleep tonight. This is all too weird. I've had a hard time sleeping all week.

I already got into planning mode after that phone call.

I work in a pharmacy... in a grocery store. I'll be working tomorrow. Mondays are hell normally cuz everyone needs their meds from over the weekend. But now that everyone is hoarding shit, it'll be crazier. Please stay home if u can, us healthcare ppl can't and we will bring it back to our loved ones.

Also there's no toilet paper, hand sanitizer, rubbing alcohol, bread, meat, or water so stay away. Kindly.

Company says to work via email, phone and videoconference. Kids are home until the end of April anyway so I'm basically not working.

(wo)man you're fucking paranoid, jesus christ. they are paying her for hours she won't be working, and you're thinking this is going to result in abuse? she can quit anytime. this would be the worst time. if my employer was like hers, applying for a new job would be the last fucking thing on my mind. you are absolutely bat shit crazy.

friend who works at the Tropicana in Laughlin, Nevada told me last night that when there is one confirmed coronavirus case among employees OR guests there, the place will immediately be shit down for a preliminary 14 days. He expressed the opinion that it would take few steps from that to a shut down of all the casinos.

I'm a Utility Arborist. I remove trees that fall on powerlines. Better then having to work inside around people. I'm a single dude and only work with one other person. That puts me in a good position all things considered. My only concern is my co-works gf is a teacher for many kids. if he gets sick he can remove the trees himself. By I do understand keeping the power on for the ungrateful masses is paramount. I will go on for as long as possible.

My company has a work from home policy in place for those who can. Though this is only possible for 60 percent of us. We have hands-on people who need to go in. Though business that drives the hands-on stuff is starting to fall off a lot. Not good. Could be out of work before too long.
