ww1 flu epidmeic. I read that the main cause of the death rate was of the first use of aspirin at that period. It was used widely to reduce pain and fever. The fever is the bodies way to lower the reproduction of the virus so, the wide spread use of aspirin led to wide spread servere cases and death.
