I got a video from my landlord company a few minutes ago regarding new laws in Portland, Oregon with rent payments

My parents are landlords in Portland, Oregon. However they have been talking about this bubble popping ever since I was a child and have many income streams in preparation, so they would be fine even if all of their tenants stopped paying their rents for awhile.

I just talked to my mom and she said that once that six months is up and people have to start paying they will probably help them out by putting them on a slow payment plan.

Unfortunately the majority of small landlords probably rely on the rental income and so this definitely will be interesting.

Id offer to pay her my rent with my bone.

Luckily I leveraged all my rentals to the hilt. But if I had a good amount of equity this would be a major dilemma. I’ll let the bank have the house if I’m not paid for 6 months. If I had 100k Of equity it would be much harder

This creates a housing shortage, because no sane person will rent in communist Oregon. The blowback is that there will be more homeless and those homeless will all get infected with the Coronavirus creating a permanent reservoir of plague to destroy the rest of Oregon's citizens.

Other than that I wouldn't be alarmed.

It's only starting here it's going to be the norm everywhere soon enough
