Police: Victim In Viral Assault Video In Dallas Confronted Protesters With Machete To ‘Allegedly Protect His Neighborhood’



A man is currently stable in the hospital, police said, after being assaulted by a group of people in the Victory Park area of Dallas Saturday. The assault has garnered millions of views on Twitter as it happened during an evening of destruction, looting and arrests in the city.

Dallas police did not release the identity of the man. Further information on his status was also not released.

Police said the incident happened in the 2200 block of North Lamar Street near the House of Blues when the man went there with a machete to “allegedly protect his neighborhood from protesters.”

Police said the man confronted the protesters, which then led to the assault by a group of them.

The curfew wasn’t 8, They had to use teargas and I think it’s dispersing but the bad actors will probably be showing up soon

Shortly after 8:40 p.m., tear gas was deployed on the crowds. There was no reports or signs of violence prior. Detroit police have started arresting protestors who defied the curfew and loading them onto a bus that was stationed and prepped for transporting arrestees.

After police deployed tear gas and began making arrests, most protestors in the area have dispersed.

Hey All, haven't been to the thread in a bit, hope everyone is well.

Heard some news I thought wise to share, for any of you Eastsider's (like me) that live in Macomb County you could possibly be impacted. BLM has planned a protest, which means riot if it's BLM/Antifa, for this coming Saturday starting on Hall Rd. I haven't heard the crossroad yet, but I'll update when I do.

We live 2 blocks off Hall in Sterling Heights and the car dealership is also only a cpl blocks off Hall in The Clem so we're prepping both places for the worst case scenario. Hopefully things won't escalate, but it's a shopping district so I'm pretty sure it's gonna get bad.
