It's almost certainly created by someone in a lab, the evidence against it being a naturally occurring virus is pilling up by the day. If you ever played Plague Inc, apparently the best way to 'win' was to have a virus initially show small symptoms to spread, then mutate into something terrible. This was made in a lab so that mentality would apply. We think this isn't that bad. It's because we can't think more than a move in front of our faces. This thing is out and spreading, of course the first iteration is going to be mild. Wait a year. Order is tyranny, chaos is freedom. |

now, covid is super contagious, of that there is no doubt, if it were to evolve into something really truly deadly it would be a borderline ELE due to how it can spread so easily for so long before killing you. however, in reality, most viruses mutate to be less deadly, because that's how they survive the longest and spread the most, by not killing their host. natural selection applies to viruses too. |

It's likely to mutate at many points. |

Chris Martensen says this type of virus tends to get weaker over time. There are exceptions...the second year of the 1918 Spanish flu was significantly more lethal. Ebola has at least 5 strains now. One kills 95 percent, another 50 percent. Good post. We cant take anything for granted. I am getting sort of numb, it is just so awful. |

But it's built. And the only reason you built a virus is to kill people. Order is tyranny, chaos is freedom. |
