Sounds quite iffy - I mean it says on the bag mushroom extract powder. Then it says nothing but whole mushrooms. - I get they mean its a powder made of whole mushrooms

Most medicinal mushrooms cannot just be eaten they have to be extracted somehow. A water decoction like tea is usually sufficient. Extracts in capsule form are usually a dual extract where the medicial compound are extracted from the mushroom powder and then dried with the powder which in effect coats it with the medicinal compounds and makes them easy to digest.

The mushroom you want to eat is Chaga, which grows on Birch Trees. Birch produces an acid called betulinic acid which is a natural anti-viral and protease inhibitor. Birch is the only natural source of it, Chaga gets it from the tree.

It targets the HIV GP-120 protien which ironically enough this Coronavirus appears to have... gee, how did that get in there?

Chaga for certain. Reishi and Turkey tail as well, but chaga is the main one.

This is the answer I was looking for. I know what a Birch tree is and I can find photos of the mushroom on google. Nothing dangerous about foraging I mean, I manage not to kill myself every autumn

Chaga is the best when it comes to activate compounds but reishi is good as well. There's a bunch and you can get em in pill form from but you can also wild harvest if you are feeling ambitious on learning something new. Different ones you'll be more likely to find in different locations. Up here I can find turkey tail and artist conk pretty easy. Turkey tail has a couple look a likes but still beginner friendly.

Total nonsense. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. For example the polysaccharides in Turkey Tails take 48hrs at a slight simmer to be released. The human digestive system cannot do that. Hence why 'extraction' is necessary first.
