Depends on location and local food growing, the us's going to have food shortages in some places, and none in others depending on if truckers can actually ship the food or not.

Farmers are likely to work their lands even during a pandemic, but will that food get to people is another question.

Thanks for sharing this. I think the best evidence and reports we can get right now are from our local farmers. Just like this report. If farmers are having issues with diesel, livestock feed or other essentials this is a good indication of where we may be headed.

Plant a garden, raise some chickens (layers and broilers), find a farmer you can get some freezer beef, bet a HUGE feezer, generator and some fuel just incase the power goes out.

Man you are way off. Whit the crops lost last year due to flooding we dont have any reserves of grain. There will be a huge problem if this happens again. Its been raining a ton here ground has been completely saturated here. Not only that we are entering a grand solar minimum and yields will be big time. Gas will be a quarter a gallon but a loaf of bread going to be 50 bucks.

Are we going to continue to ship most of our meat to China to be processed and packed and then be shipped back here? What about the huge quantities of grain and other crops we sell to them and other countries?

Ok... so help me with this. Let’s say a canner produces 100,000 cans of green beans one day, 100,000 cans of corn the next,... 5 different types of fan vegetables a week for 500,000 cans a week.

They have 3 months stock between their warehouses and the wholesalers and distributors and stores. 6,000,000 cans in the supply line.

Then corona hits... in a matter of weeks all their stock in the pipeline is sold and demand is still twice what they can produce. This would seem to make sense given that the stores are unable to restock can goods quickly.

So they need to increase production to at least 1 million cans a week just to meet demand... forget about the pipeline.

No.. not in February. You have to find some on the open market out of South America or god knows where. Those farms are unlikely to have excess produce. Besides, their country may be having runs on food too.

Same goes for cattle. They are not created by a vending machine.. they have to be birthed and raised and fattened up.

I am not buying into the argument that there is plenty of food on the way.. I don’t think they have it. At the very least - prices goin’ way up.
