We don’t need to wait for an over run hospital to know if covid patients come through the door

I'm an engineer and work for one of the largest health care providers in the world. We treat patients in many countries. I've been working around thr clock implementing solutions to allow remote work.

We've shutdown all offices not treating patients.

We've already determined the patients we treat have a 30% fatality rate if infected. This wasn't based on the WHO, CDC, or news reports. We're expecting lots of deaths.

I won't share my personal opinions on the matter but this is what we're dealing with. Unfortunately a large number of people think this is a hoax/"common flu". But our patients, who do have preexisting conditions, survive the "common flu" each year. They're not surviving this.

I don't get your point. Our hospitals ate empty because the infection rate is low. Once it increases we will see a great number going to the hospital. What are you talking about?

Well that makes sense. 10% of those tested are positive. I see that is common in other areas. Like PA.

Lots of false diagnoses. Suspected or rule out but only 1 case in one hospital out of 6 . And that one is one of the original cruise ship cases and that Patient is still sick and there are two federal marshals on the door making sure she stays put .. we in the hospitals are not sick but it sure is suspicious that lots of famous people and politicians are testing positive at least publically claiming it while we the frontline of healthcare are not sick at all

one thing is for sure at least in the hospital staff population it shows we do in fact observe and practice hygiene as not to spread disease ...we keep it clean

Pennsylvania, my granddaughter is a nurse in intensive care in a small hospital. She told me they have two patients that are in intensive care on respirators, neither of which have been tested. They've been there over a week. They came in before testing was available in this small rural area. Now that tests are available, they will not test these two patients, because if they are proved positive, all hell will break loose because all of the staff will have to be tested since they were not properly protected, just gowns, gloves and masks and many may test positive and then they will be understaffed.

This is what is happening everywhere. How can anyone get a good handle on this thing as long as it is covered up? And why? Why cover it up in the first place?

Its been in California for 8 weeks. Methodist Arcadia hospital would not let me know if they had tested anyone, if any of those tests were positive, or if they had any positive patients in the hospital - called them yesterday asking after I noticed they had only 14 cars in their normally overflowing parking lot. 3 weeks ago while in the ER, I questioned several medical staff and they had at that point tested zero patients and could not understand why the news was hyping it so much - they were no more concerned about it than the flu. Now they have a big tent out front and a nurse suited up with a wheelchair posted out front waiting for patients, with a zero wait time yesterday afternoon.

We have 1 confirmed. We also have 5 that we thought were covid-19, but they aren't. One of these has been moved to critical care. As of now, our only confirmed Covid-19 case was someone traveling through from Florida. They are apparently doing well.

Problem is if successful drastic measures will appear unnecessary.

When prevention works in such instances, some awesome will always claim. It was too severe because see? Nothing happened.
