Asking if the pt. Hasa fever, or has been aroundsomeone else confirmed would give EMS CREWS A HEADS UP ON PPE EQUIPMENT. This kindof liberalidiocy is going cost lives and might cause some of us to quit if this goes more wild weasel. |

FOUR Quoting: ALL IS ONE IS ALL Very interesting. I have a friend in quarantine there.. and she was able to find out the number of actual deaths. even if all 4 were going to be cremated... it would not exceed the capacity the one crematorium. Let me explain on editing.. the friend does not have the virus.. she is just in the lockdown there now... |

Now that tests are available, they will not test these two patients, because if they are proved positive, all hell will break loose because all of the staff will have to be tested since they were not properly protected, just gowns, gloves and masks and many may test positive and then they will be understaffed. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77104996 That is absolutely terrifying. The staff members that might be positive will be exposing others (inside and outside the hospital) to it. Therefor it will seem like barely any or maybe even 0 cases at most hospitals Quoting: WisdomSeek yes, but oh they are throwing out "elective" surgeries scheduled for this time. how "elective" is an access procedure needing to continue dialysis? it is not elective at all Or how elective is an aortic aneurusm found that is 7cm? Many docs and nurses out with suspected cases. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78671060 Shouldn't they come back in since they can't spread it to or catch it from the supposed upcoming tsunami of patients. There’s old Patients that don’t have it and if they get it they die. So yeah trying not to spread it. We’re not overrun and actually slow bc all elective stuff has been put off. Just at a waiting point now |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78617574 United States 03/22/2020 09:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Lots of false diagnoses. Suspected or rule out but only 1 case in one hospital out of 6 . And that one is one of the original cruise ship cases and that Patient is still sick and there are two federal marshals on the door making sure she stays put .. we in the hospitals are not sick but it sure is suspicious that lots of famous people and politicians are testing positive at least publically claiming it while we the frontline of healthcare are not sick at all Quoting: bcjams Explain that you shills ! You'll get your $3.50 ! I'm waiting ! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78347381 so not hit here yet I still say we have 2-4 weeks before we start seeing overwhelmed with patients. At least here in Midwest I sure hope not. I'm hoping that these two weeks of self quarantine will help curb the numbers immensely. HOW? To me it the numbers would go down. If half of us are self quaranting, that is reducing the amount of people exposed. A lot of people are also wearing masks and gloves when they are out and about. We won't really know for a few weeks though. Like I said, I'm very interested in what the numbers will be in this thread in a few weeks. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 23679787 United States 03/22/2020 09:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm an engineer and work for one of the largest health care providers in the world. We treat patients in many countries. I've been working around thr clock implementing solutions to allow remote work. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72707741 We've shutdown all offices not treating patients. We've already determined the patients we treat have a 30% fatality rate if infected. This wasn't based on the WHO, CDC, or news reports. We're expecting lots of deaths. I won't share my personal opinions on the matter but this is what we're dealing with. Unfortunately a large number of people think this is a hoax/"common flu". But our patients, who do have preexisting conditions, survive the "common flu" each year. They're not surviving this. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're only treating and testing the terribly ill ones. I'm very curious as to the sample size you have to "determine" the fatality rate of the infected. You're fucking bullshit, tbh. 30% death rate with a very small sample size would be entirely possible with mainstream numbers. If 20% of all infected need hospitalization, and 30% of them die, that would be 6% of total infected. What's your fucking sample size, though? ridiculous |
