Over 100 Years of Natural Relief
Our gentle homeopathic formulas are made with all natural active ingredients formulated with a high margin of safety and for effectiveness.

Homeopathy is based on the principles of 'Like Cures Like,' 'Low Dose' and 'Individualized Medicines.' For instance, onions make your eyes water. If you have a cold or allergies and a runny nose, the likely remedy will be Allium Cepa, which is derived from onions.

Active ingredients are prepared in micro-doses with a high margin of safety, and are carefully chosen to match the most common symptoms experienced in an ailment. In classical homeopathy, homeopathic remedies are chosen according to an individual's physical symptoms and emotional characteristics.

Hyland's Leg Cramps pills continue to be one of the top selling analgesics in the United States since it was introduced in 1994.

Muscle Cramp Pain
Exertion: Athletes who become fatigued and dehydrated can develop muscle cramps. Leg cramps and foot cramps are an especially common problem triathletes, cyclists, runners or others who give it their all.

Medical conditions: Hyland's Leg Cramps tablets have no known drug interactions and are safe to take with your other OTC and prescription medications.

Quinine Bark
Hyland's Leg Cramps with quinine contains the homeopathic medicine Cinchona Officinalis HPUS, which is made from the bark of the Cinchona tree, commonly called 'Quinine Bark.' This bark is the source ingredient for quinine as well as the source of the ingredient in Hyland's Leg Cramps pills. Homeopathically-prepared Cinchona Officinalis is a safe and extremely effective ingredient to relieve leg cramp pain.

Non-homeopathic quinine, quinine sulfate or any salts of quinine are not found in any Hyland's product. The Food and Drug Administration does not permit allopathic quinine in any OTC medicines, and limits its use in prescription medications as well.

Hyland's Leg Cramps is a safe product because the active ingredients are present in microdoses; a 6 oz. serving of tonic water has up to 4000 times the amount of quinine found in one Hyland's Leg Cramps caplet.

For those looking for a SUPPLEMENT that is a ZINC-Ionophore, Quercetin is readily available online

I will concede that although no IN VITRO study has been conducted on SARS-CoV-2, the method of action is the same

I do not receive any monetary compensation nor am I affiliated in any way with this supplement

Quinine is not a ZINC-Ionophore like Chloroquine or Hydroxychloroquine and can be highly toxic if taken prophylactically

Who Discovered that Cinchona Bark is Medicine (Quinine)?

Question: Who discovered the cinchona bark as medicine?

Answer: Tribes in the Amazon used the bark of a shrub called Cinchona to treat fevers and shivering; Spanish priests in this region observed traditional Quechua healers using this bark and started using it themselves to treat the fevers associated with malaria. Many centuries later, the active ingredient from this bark was isolated … [Read more...]

Much larger than in 6 0z. of Tonic Water

One would have to drink six to eight liters of Tonic Water a day to get the therapeutic dose equivalent to prescription Chloroquine -- and I don't recommend anyone self-treat with that even if they are able to buy it overseas.

The danger of poisoning is way too high.

I had a busy day so have just returned to check posts.

Depending on where you live doctors are completely overwhelmed and cannot talk to you unless you need the ICU. Worse you're likely to get way sicker if you walk into any medical facility at present.

NEVER said one should self-medicate or buy meds designed for emergency situations online.

Used to drink tonic water for the suggested medical benefits until I learned it contains a lot of HFC, counteracting the desired effect to help my very delicate stomach.

Surprised Amazon's Hyland pills contain Quinine but I bought it for extreme sore muscles when I overexercise. One pill really worked so I am simply sharing that info.

Will buy the tea form a previous poster suggested NOT for Wu Flu but as again I have a delicate stomach.

Thank you to the previous posters comment on the small amount of Quinine now in tonic water. Believe it used to contain a whole lot more.

Would like to know how much quinine is in Hyland's. All I know is that it instantly relieved my severe leg and foot pain. I constantly overexercise and wanted anything that would not upset my delicate stomach like standard pain relievers.

Overview Information
Cinchona is a tree. People use the bark to make medicine.

Cinchona is used for increasing appetite; promoting the release of digestive juices; and treating bloating, fullness, and other stomach problems. It is also used for blood vessel disorders including hemorrhoids, varicose veins, and leg cramps. Some people use cinchona for mild influenza, swine flu, the common cold, malaria, and fever. Other uses are for cancer, mouth and throat diseases, enlarged spleen, and muscle cramps.

Cinchona is used in eye lotions to numb pain, kill germs, and as an astringent. Cinchona extract is also applied to the skin for hemorrhoids, ulcers, stimulating hair growth, and managing varicose veins.

In foods, cinchona is used as a bitter flavoring in tonic water and alcoholic beverages.

How does it work?
Cinchona bark contains quinine, which is a medicine used to treat malaria. It also contains quinidine which is a medicine used to treat heart palpitations (arrhythmias).

Re: Leg, Foot Pain or Cramps? Pills Contain Quinine ie Cinchona Tree Bark
If anyone can send me a link as to where I can buy Cinchona Tree Bark for tea I would appreciate it.

Even if I don't get Wu Flu it seems like it's a beneficial remedy for my delicate stomach. Always been into natural herbal remedies.

"Only 83 mg of Quinine in a whole liter of tonic water.

500 mg or 1000 mg dose is usual dosage of quinine for therapeutic purposes.

The small amount in Hyland's homeopathic pills is probably of dubious therapeutic value if that is true."

I thought you had said it was much less than in tonic water.

The tablets are only 194 mg and they are not pure quinine.

Probably just a small percent of the compound in it.

I think the tablets are probably safe but of dubious therapeutic value -- and I would certainly not count on them as a home remedy for COVID-19.

If they help with leg cramps, great, but I would not bet my life on them against this virus.

If you come down with the virus, a doctor can prescribe Chloroquine right now off label.

Hopefully soon we will have more evidence of its efficacy in a therapeutic setting against the virus.

It is promising.

Never have heard of the term. I took one semester of high school biology and 1 of physiology. No other science courses.

Googling the term,

Chloroquine Is a Zinc Ionophore

2014 [link to doi.org (secure)]

Introduction
Chloroquine is an established antimalarial agent that has been recently tested in clinical trials for its anticancer activity.

The favorable effect of chloroquine appears to be due to its ability to sensitize cancerous cells to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and induce apoptosis.

The present study investigated the interaction of zinc ions with chloroquine in a human ovarian cancer cell line (A2780). Chloroquine enhanced zinc uptake by A2780 cells in a concentration-dependent manner, as assayed using a fluorescent zinc probe.

This enhancement was attenuated by TPEN, a high affinity metal-binding compound, indicating the specificity of the zinc uptake.

Furthermore, addition of copper or iron ions had no effect on chloroquine-induced zinc uptake. Fluorescent microscopic examination of intracellular zinc distribution demonstrated that free zinc ions are more concentrated in the lysosomes after addition of chloroquine, which is consistent with previous reports showing that chloroquine inhibits lysosome function.

The combination of chloroquine with zinc enhanced chloroquine's cytotoxicity and induced apoptosis in A2780 cells. Thus chloroquine is a zinc ionophore, a property that may contribute to chloroquine's anticancer activity.

Are you saying it hasn't passed rigorous testing? ThatI already know. Trump signed the Compassionate Care Act allowing the extremely seriously ill to take a big risk by trying out non-FDA approved drugs.

One NYC doctor said none of his patients died after using the 3 drugs successfully used in France and South Korea.

I'm not trying to buy big amounts of any potentially dangerous drug. Just have long heard that gin & tonics were an old-fashioned cure for those with delicate stomachs. Likely the Angostura Bitters, composed of natural herbs like fresh ginger, that helped.

When I found tonic water contained less Quinine than it did originally but a lot of HFC I stopped taking it. Hyland pills helped with my leg pain without upsetting my stomach like most Western pain meds.

Still looking to try the original tree bark in tea form for when I have an upset stomach.
