Question about the closing of liquor stores. | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 78136782 United States 03/23/2020 05:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am not getting what good it does to close liquor stores during lockdowns. Quoting: LTHN. Alcohol abuse aside, alcohol when moderately consumed is often a calming or rewarding enjoyment. I can see some people being distraught or scare, and having a drink to chill out some would possibly be helpful for them. Or enjoying a bottle of wine with a meal, kinda brings comfort or normalness to the lockdown. My take is this: Since the states are advocating for distancing and closing of non-essential retail, they are leading by example. At least here in Pa. where the state runs the liquor stores... |

Today at local liquor store they had a guard at the in door that was only letting 50 people in at a time, and people were linining up outside ( line of 5 or 7 people, pretty steady amount) and many were self distancing, some had masks on. Inside the store, they had black tape on the floor at 5 ft intervals at the 3 cash register lineups, and had a sign asking you to preferably plait by debit or credit, and to bag your own booze. Quoting: Evil_Twin I will no shit get out my body armor and have an AR15 staged in every doorway. Could you wear a Go-Pro camera when doing that? Thanks! ...oh, and remember, pay no mind to the guy in the red boxers. But getting people to self distance is a problem. So many just don't get it. They creep up closer and closer to you in line until I felt like a jerk saying, I'm sorry but could you please step back a bit? |
