According to the Los Angeles Times a federally backed task force and safety equipment organization recommended to the Obama administration that the masks needed to be replenished because they used all 100 million masks for the H1N1 outbreak.

Charles Johnson, president of the International Safety Equipment Association, said that advice was never followed.

Cuomo instead used the tax payer funds to invest $1.5 Billion in a since then failing solar panel company. Maybe those solar panels can be converted into ventilator?

So Cuomo had plenty of time to prepare.

N95 face masks have a safe shelf life of 3 years. They need to be constantly restocked.

Wrong Chinese are responsible as they refused even North American Manufacturers in China to sell masks and gowns outside of China. They now have an over abundance within China but have marked up pricing by 500-1000% taking advantage of a bad situation.

Where masks were 1.30 or so per box they are now trying to sell them at 12-16$k per box. Gowns the same, ventilators, the same.
