OP, I had been pondering this as well for many days now.

I have tried to educate. I have been patient. I have appealed to emotion, reason, authority--nothing works with many of the people who you're calling out.

Then, the other day, the answer appeared before me: these are, by and large, stupid people.

These are mostly low IQ stupid folks who are just intelligent enough to hold a low-skill non-intellectual job and use the internet. They lack the critical reasoning to discern between reality and the fantasy sold to them by their peers.

You will never get a satisfying answer from them. You will never be able to educate them, or help them. Stop wasting your time on them.

They will necessitate more stringent quarantine measures from those of us who are not idiots, and they will bring down the police state upon us. They are too stupid to understand or to care. They are also too stupid to take responsibility for their actions and you can bet they will be a problem when the police state arrives.

Throughout history, stupid people have always made life more challenging for societies. Nothing has changed.
