Words have meaning (obviously), but similar sounding words have multiple meanings, depending on context and if you don't know the context, then listening to one word may get you to the other's understanding, and viceversa.

erythro- for red.
leuko- for white.
melano- for black

The New Testament was written in Koine Greek.

The Greek words for pale green, white, red and black are chloros, leukos, pyrros and melanos, respectively.

The Greek word for horse is hippos. (Latin has the word equine for horse, not Greek.)

Consequently, the scriptures record pale horse, white horse, red horse and black horse as hippos chloros, hippos leukos, hippos pyrros, and hippos melas, respectively.

Although the chloros portion of chloroquine does mean pale green, the quine ending does not mean horse. It is Spanish-ized Quechuan (ancient South American language) and refers to a chemical analog of the medicinal bark of a particular South American tree. (The Spanish word for horse is caballo.)

If you try to carry the poor translation forward to the Apocalyptic white, red and black horses, you end up with the following.

Leukoquine. There is a chemotherapy drug called leukokine, but there's no etymological connection.

Pyrroquine is meaningless. Erythro is another Greek word which means red (ruby). Erythroquine does exist and is a trade name antibiotic containing both Erythromycin and Flumequine (discovered during attempts to synthesize our friend, chloroquine).

Melanoquina or Melaquin is a skin cream for bleaching dark skin, which contains hydroquinone, a by-product of the chlorine decomposition of our friend, quinine.

Again, for none of these does quine, kine or quina mean horse.

For this theory to have any merit, you must accept that (1) St. John misunderstood the names of medicines--when writing down the visions he saw in what would become the Book of Revelation--and confusingly used the Greek word for horse instead of phoios ("tree bark"), (2) to make things more confusing he used a different Greek word for red than the medicinal name (pyrro instead of erythro), and (3) a malaria drug, a chemotherapy drug, an antibiotic drug and a dark skin bleaching cream herald chapters of the end times.

It's a weak theory.
