Checking in from South America and things are decidedly abnormal. They not only shut down all the borders (land, sea and air) but they shut down all domestic flights as well, all buses, the metro... no one is on the road. Going out will subject you to police on a power trip questioning your motives (one person per family is allowed out and only to buy food, only for a few hours and only certain days per week).
The business world has changed too. Everyone is doing zoom meetings now and they’re all home so you get to see them in their home attire with their living room as their background. Weird.
Here’s the kicker - everyone that I talk to says that they’re tired. Clients, family, coworkers, doesn’t matter, everybody is tired. I guess it’s from being locked inside, with no sun?

What I can't get over is the fact that the locals think they are hiding from like a person or something. Literally, the Indigenous population is hiding in their homes- scared to go out for even food. And, even the educated Guatemalans think that they wait in their house for x weeks and then- boom- all safe. They haven't gone through the fact that the borders will open and the infection will arrive. Also, the government of Guatemala has everyone convinced that catching Corona is a death sentence. Is it the same there?
