Yes, he's been in a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation from the day he took office.

I'm sure you've seen it across the pond...every chance the media gets they twist and conive everything he says or does.

Can he declare nationwide martial law?

Yes, he can, but he wouldn't do that unless the situation dictated there was no other option. Even though that power is there, it's viewed by most people as unconstitutional and it wouldn't sit well with most of the population.

Trump is doing what the Federal Government should be doing:

1. Allow state governors to govern their state (constitutional)

2. Provide emergency funding for states that need it

3. Provide any other forms of assistance that states need (supplies, equipment, testing, etc.)

4. Put the full resources of the Federal Government available to the states (HUD, HHS, CDC, etc.)

5. Involve the military (in addition to the National Guard) to help in areas that are hit hard (like NYC).

6. Facilitate the needs for the epidemic to the private sector. Get them involved. Collectively use the governments resources and brainpower along with the private sector's resources and brainpower.

The list goes on and on.

There's a tremendous amount of work being done. Don't let the media bullshit you otherwise.

The government (federal and state and county) ALL take this seriously.

Some people take it seriously, and some people don't. If I had to guess it's probably 80% take it seriously and 20% don't.
