in the old days / old ways courtship dating was about communication and getting to know the person to discover if you really did want to spend the rest of your life with them

however, it's not that way now
in this current western culture

"dating" means

if you ain't gettin any you ain't "dating"

you're in the "Just hang out" platonic zone and it will never progress as a courtship
