That view is subjective in hindsight. If one of the laid off employees with a grudge comes back and kills you, you may actually not live to see another day.

This is why I ostensibly like being the little guy with no power, always in the shadows and totally irrelevant to all in a conscious capacity.

Your employees are aware of you though, and what if they blame you, and not the Virus? What do they tell their families? Because of the volatility and lack of understanding concerning what is going on, things could go one way, or they could go the other. You're in a tight spot now.

I feel ya buddy. We went through it too. Feels like we let guys down. Most understand that it's not under out control. Lives are being ruined for this bullshit.

We need to reopen America again, fuck this shutdown. Shutting down is effecting 90% of us as opposed to the 1% of us.

Was just launching a business that services restaurants to myself.

Sad times.... but I guess you can’t have the good without the bad.

We had to lay a lot off too, but the beauty of it is right now they're going to give each laid off worker an additional 600 a week to whatever the unemployment is in your state, that plus the 1200 should be pretty helpful to them.

I think they're doing this for about 4 months, at which time you might be in better position.

You'd be surprised. People with nothing to lose are the very most dangerous people. How many of these people depended on that job? How many of them have families to support? How many lived paycheck to paycheck?

Regardless if that particular state puts a stay order on evictions for several months, they're still not going to be able to afford the other essential bills, and that alleged check from the Government isn't coming for at least 1.5 - 2 months, which in itself won't cover much.

People are about to absolutely lose their minds, and when that happens, things become dangerous.

This is compounded by the fact that even when you do have money, most of the stores shelves are empty.

How long before too many people are sick and grocery stores have to shutdown??

The Devil isn't going to be a business owner, he's going to mimic Christ and come from the ashes of NOTHING. "He has to be one of us" they all said.

Granted, they're VERY sparse here, but I always manage to find something to survive on, so far at least.

FFS they work construction, getting laid off is part of the business. They will collect unemployment and work side jobs.

Our employees have been with us for 5-13 years. They know this was not a quick decision.

I just came back from the store in a major city and most everything looked fine except the cat litter was gone and the big bags of cat food, lol.

Thank you. I have lost a lot of sleep over the past week over this decision. Hoping I made the right choice.

It sucks, we were doing fine until the virus hit. The cancellations and holds on work were incredible. We survived the housing bubble - this was way worse.

All for a hoax virus.

I don't see that happening. Our family members were the first to lose their jobs, WITHOUT unemployment.

Sorry to hear this. My son is a project manager for a construction company in Texas. He's fearful as well.

All I can say is we always treated our employees well. I can't predict what they will do.

It's not a hoax when you have the jobs cancel on you. Most of our jobs have a 50% non refundable deposit, but they cancel anyway.

We have NEVER laid off this many people. This makes the housing bubble look like a small blip on the screen.
