The $1200 will probably need to be declared on your 2020 tax return. If you don't take the check, ie. send it back, their accts will get screwed up and they'll still be looking for that $1200 on your tax return. Trust me on this! If you don't need the money, donate it to a charity and take the deduction. Save the headaches!
