Normalcy bias, or normality bias, is a tendency for people to believe that things will function in the future the way they normally have functioned in the past and therefore to underestimate both the likelihood of a disaster and its possible effects.
Trust your gut OP. There’s new stories every day from those recovering who are shouting the warning regarding this bug. The common thread between them all is that they were foolish mockers like the self assured fools all over this forum.
Normalcy bias affects ~70% of the population affected.
