Why the heck would GLPers want you dead?  Never wished death upon anyone in my life. And yes, ginger and turmeric seem to have worked for me for a number of years now, against all kinds of flues. Trick is to take it as soon as one notices the very first symptoms. Matter of minutes, it seems.
