If it comes to it, do you want to be placed on a ventilator? | |

It could be like having COPD, constantly out of breath. With no quality of life, if it came to it, I say give me the morphine on the way out. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 54547252 Me too. Was intubated in 2018 for a three-hour surgery. Took weeks to fully recover. I’m 60 years old. Never again. Just give me a triple scoop of morphine. Prayers we all stay safe and well. |

Every time you go through a doorway, stop, think about death, and say aloud "I die now" and walk through the door as if you've just died and are moving on. Do this for a week. You'll feel better about death. Repeat as needed. |

Quoting: Freckle Face Have you shared your wishes with a loved one or doctor? If you break a leg or have an appendix rupture you want to be taken to a hospital? (Or just take a drink of apple cider vinegar?) Yeah but you want to put them on a ventilator for a broken leg or a ruptured appendix. my question is "why would you want to do that?" What type of scam are you pulling, Wookie666? You countenance is a give away that these "breathing devices" are some type of torture device. Whew. Way off the mark. Quoting: Tatsuya If it comes to that let me go to sleep forever, better than being hooked up to a machine for the rest of my life. if you are at stage needing ventilator, you can just take a deep breathe and have someone press on your chest, or bear hug you from behind. you won't wake up. |

It's a precursor to death (95 percent in China) and even if you survive that your lungs are permanently damaged. Not a single word of that is true |

Natural Selection. Not all people are suppose to live. We have way too many scavengers on earth. Like rats. Because living is easy. Make living hard and only the strongest (most intelligent) survive. User ID: 77354011 United States 03/29/2020 03:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I’ve had surgery, so I’ve been on a ventilator. I don’t remember it. I would definitely want to be intubated if I couldn’t breath. Dying due to inability to breathe isn’t a fun way to die. Quoting: Corporal Punishment a family member was on one for many, many weeks in ICU recently. no memory of the time if you can't stop it, don't start it. - old medical saying they used the wrong-sized tube and tore his airways to shreds. Was supposed to be only for a day or so. I told them he needed a pediatric tube.... they said leave the room. took a repeat intubation only 60 seconds after the too-large tube was pulled out a month later.... big emergency... that tube lasted a couple more weeks He did NOT need the tube in the first place - it was to make the resident feel better about putting a jugular shunt in. And NO, he says never again. once you are on, you are on devil's time. not alive, but not dead. some remain that way for years. better not to start.
