I had a couple of people in my neighborhood complain about that on Facebook last week. I figured they just had old phones. Mine's been ok, but my phone is only 3-4 months old.

Double-click the button a couple of times and then clear off all the applications that are running in the background. It could be that some common application/website people are using to get info for CV19 is draining your power.

If you put your phone into a sealed metal container it will block incoming and out going signals. They wouldn't be able to track you.

If the battery has high usage due to background activity it would be quite warm because the CPU is processing data.
