Trump administration going after China 'in way we haven't seen'

Sky News US correspondent Cameron Stewart says the administration in Washington is “really going after China in a way that we just haven’t seen throughout the entire Trump presidency”.

This comes after Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a conference “China could have spared the world a descent into global economic malaise” and “they had a choice but instead covered up the outbreak in Wuhan.”

“They were very strong words, and at the same time, the Chinese ambassador to the US put an opinion piece in the paper where he accused America of basically hating China,” Mr Stewart told Sky News.

“It’s now a war of words that’s really escalating and things are really heating up.”

New Bill Proposed by Senator to Stop CCP’s Propaganda and Control in the US | CCP Virus

The Chinese Communist Party has been infiltrating the film industry for some time now. Senator Ted Cruz proposed to ban Chinese propaganda directed to Americans. India Cancels COVID Test Kit Order from China Over Quality Issue |CCP Virus

On April 27, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) decided to cancel their purchase of CCP virus rapid test kits from China. Joint Secretary of Health Ministry, Lav Agarwal said, “Many states have responded that the test kits are faulty, prompting the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to immediately take action.

“We have canceled the order and have not yet made payments to those organizations.”

According to news reports, India ordered five million units of the rapid test kits made by Guangzhou Wondfo Biotech and Zhuhai Livzon Diagnostics in April. It was alleged that these test kits were able to produce rapid test results through blood samples, and could test for infection history and identify asymptomatic carriers.

A Rajasthan official, however, responded that multiple tests conducted on confirmed CCP virus carriers produced false negative results. The testing revealed that the batch of test kits had a mere 5 percent accuracy rate.

Since late March, medical supplies sold to Europe, Asia, and various regions in the Middle East have frequently been returned due to similar quality issues.

The Ambassador of Italy to the United States, Armando Varricchio, said that more and more countries are becoming aware that, at the time when countries are in urgent need of medical supplies, the CCP takes advantage of the opportunity to promote its image to increase its global influence.

Varricchio said, “We, in Italy, don’t want to fall into this sort of trap.

“We are fully aware that we should not try to buy into a narrative that might fall under the umbrella of, you know, public diplomacy. We are not naive, and we understand very well.“

Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) said during an appearance on Fox News this week that he plans to introduce legislation that would prevent American professors working on federally-funded programs from accepting money from the Chinese government and China-affiliated organizations.

According to a report from Fox News, Sen. Tom Cotton announced plans to introduce legislation that would prevent American researchers from accepting funds from the Chinese government if they are already participating in a federally-funded research program.

“I’m going to propose legislation that would ban any researcher from accepting Chinese-affiliated funds if they are also working on federally funded programs,” Cotton said on Sunday.

U.S. State Department: CCP Officials Spread Disinformation |CCP Virus

U.S. State Department Spokesperson, Morgan Ortagus, expressed during a Bill Hemmer Reports Fox News interview on April 29, that currently no credible scientists, doctors, or investigators have yet entered the Wuhan lab or the seafood market to investigate the origins of the virus. Ortagus called for transparency and openness from the CCP to the international community.

“If they want to be transparent, they can simply start by giving us the correct data, and by opening up the country not just to the United States, but to the world, to credible doctors from around the world.”

Ortagus also reprimanded CCP officials for spreading disinformation.

“We get a lot of disinformation Bill, that you see from Chinese communist party officials.”

During a recent Voice of America interview, Ortagus said that the CCP’s ban on Twitter abridged the Chinese people’s freedom of speech. Zhao Lijian and other CCP officials, meanwhile, use Twitter to spread false information from the regime.

“The disinformation that we were seeing from party (CCP) officials were so egregious, we really felt the need to call it out.”

In an April 30 post on Twitter, Ortagus further emphasized Secretary Pompeo’s warning the previous day to the CCP. Pompeo tweeted that the United States has been seeking information about the origins of COVID-19, and called on the CCP to be transparent and cooperative.

Photo of the Day: 'CCP Virus' projected on Chinese consulate in LA

Chinese dissident projects image of Xi Jinping as 'CCP virus'

In order to protest against China's handling of the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) a Chinese dissident group projected an image of the "CCP Virus" on the Chinese consulate in Los Angeles on Sunday (May 10).

On Sunday evening, members of the Anti-Totalitarian Chinese Alliance (華人反極權聯盟) used a projector to impose defiant symbols on the Chinese consulate in Los Angeles. The image that received the most likes and shares on social media was an illustration of Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping (習近平) with spike proteins of the virus sprouting out of his head and the words "CCP Virus" below.

The founder of the group, Alston Kwan (關堯), posted a photo of the illustration on Twitter that evening. In addition to Xi's likeness, Kwan also projected the acronym "NMSL," which is short for the Mandarin insult "Your mother has died" (你媽死了).

The term has been used by Chinese trolls to put down any statement online deemed to be anti-China. However, it has also recently been used against Chinese trolls by Thai members of the "Milk Tea Alliance."

"“China willfully inflicted” the coronavirus upon the world a spectacular display of "communism” at its very worst".

“Let’s be absolutely crystal clear, this is an inevitable consequence of communism and totalitarianism,” Mr Dean told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

"First of all they tried to shut it up and suppress those individuals who were sounding the alarm" after which they panicked "attributed the blame to the United States which is just laughable," Mr Dean said.

“China must be held to account for this...and countries around the world need to start looking at their relationship with China in light of this disaster”.

“If it were a company or if it were an individual… that had caused such worldwide damage other countries would be asking for reparations,” Mr Dean said. "

Chinese in the US: the plague made me see through the CCP’s evil nature | CCP Virus

Since the global CCP virus outbreak, “mask gifting” has become a way to express care among Chinese families. It is also a way to show support to healthcare workers.
In this pandemic, through donating masks, a Chinese lady who recently came to the U.S. was able to realize the evil nature of the CCP.
Xu Nuo from China had just arrived in the U.S. three months ago. She donated 6,000 medical masks to a hospital in Los Angeles. She hopes the public can understand that the Chinese are also victims of the CCP virus and that it was the CCP who caused this global pandemic.
Xu Nuo, a former Chinese company employee from mainland China said:
“If the Chinese government and the CCP had told the world the danger of this virus and cautioned its spread, I believe not so many innocent people would have lost their lives. This whole time, the Chinese government and the CCP have done such wrong, they are the cause of many people to lose their lives, I am very angry.”
Xu Nuo said at the beginning of this epidemic, she once mailed masks to her family as well as a few Bibles in the package. Her family was harassed by the CCP because of this.
Xu Nuo: “(The Chinese police) took my family to the station thinking I am part of an anti-China religious group and my family would be incited by me to be anti-China too. They took my father and put him in detention in a very poor isolated environment and we had to pay for all of it ourselves. My family are very elderly, this whole process caused him a lot of harm physically and mentally.”
Xu Nuo said the CCP slaughtered many lives, persecuted many religious groups in order to retain their power, so this plague made her realize the evil nature of the CCP. She hopes more people will understand and keep away from the CCP.

How the CCP Plays Media Games to Deceive the World

The Chinese regime has launched a new wave of disinformation, this time firing back against potential investigations into the origin of the virus by claiming the United States was warned, the CCP held off the virus, and by using hostile statements while also calling for civility.

FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr published a Twitter thread debunking these new narratives step by step, and similar analysis has been published elsewhere. The developments suggest the Chinese regime’s disinformation narratives are losing steam.

And when the pandemic is over, the world may be a very different place, with online schooling and working from home being new norms; and as governments expand systems for social control and surveillance.

Nigerian lawyers drag china to court over cover 19, demands $200b damages | CCP Virus | COVID-19

[link to www.youtube.com (secure)]

During the White House Coronavirus press briefing on April 27th, a reporter said, that a majority of polls show Americans blame the CCP for the spread of the coronavirus, yet they’re taking advantage of the virus to make the world more dependent on China’s supply chains. The President was asked on how he plans to hold China accountable. US President Trump (April 27th, 2020): “There are a lot of ways you can hold them (the CCP) accountable. We’re doing very serious investigations, as you probably know. And we are not happy with China. We are not happy with that whole situation because we believe it could have been stopped at the source, it could have been stopped quickly, and it wouldn’t have spread all over the world. And we think that should have happened.”

Earlier this Month, Bild, the largest German newspaper had published a bill, that called for the German government and the European Union to secure a compensation of €149 Billion (Euros), the equivalent of $163 Billion, from Beijing, as the cost of the virus to various sectors within the German economy. President Trump was asked during the press briefing, that if his administration is planning on doing the same. President Trump expressed there are many ways on doing that (making China responsible). US President Trump(April 27th, 2020): “And we’re talking about a lot more money than Germany is talking about, yeah. We haven’t determined the final amount yet. It’s very substantial. If you take a look at the world — I mean, this is worldwide damage. This is damage to the U.S., but this is damage to the world.”

As the coronavirus spread makes its way to Africa, Nigeria is also taking its first shot at demanding compensation. According to a Nigerian news report from Daily Post on April 26th, a group of Nigerian lawyers is preparing their sue that demands a compensation of $2000 from the CCP over the effects of the coronavirus outbreak. The group of lawyers plans to first go to the Federal High Court of Nigeria and, second, to persuade the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to institute a state action against the People's Republic of China at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) at The Hague. The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Federal Republic of Nigeria will be receiving the plaint.

Last week, the Australian government called for WHO to support an investigation over the origin and the spread of the CCP virus. However, the Chinese Ambassador to Australia, Cheng Jingye, however, threatened that Australia's push for an independent investigation could result in Chinese consumers rejecting Australian products, or even stop them from studying or traveling to Australia. Trade Minister Simon Birmingham: “The (Australian) government has made our displeasure with those remarks (from Cheng Jingye) known, our policy positions are clear, they are based on public health principles. The least the world can expect is a transparent inquiry into the causes of COVID-19, so we can understand how best to prevent a repeat episode anytime in the future.” (video from ABC News) Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne issued a statement on April 27th that, the CCP should not have resorted to the means of “economic coercion”. The CCP’s threats have also drawn backlash from the government, the people, and the academia, who have voiced their support to the Australian government over the investigation over the CCP.

Australian Effort to Hold China Accountable Receives Support, but the CCP Responds With Threats

Australia’s demand for accountability from China received support from other countries, but the CCP responded by threatening Australia with a boycott.

Many countries are demanding reform within the WHO and have called for the CCP to be held accountable for the pandemic. Australia, being one of the most vocal countries, has been threatened by the CCP with a boycott in tourism and foreign trade. The foreign minister of Australia said Monday that he would not submit to the coercion.

As of April 27, the number of confirmed cases of the CCP virus in Australia reached 6,714, with 83 deaths. Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton, and Foreign Minister Marise Payne, recently called for the international community to send independent inspectors into China to investigate the actions taken by the Chinese Communist Party since the outbreak of the virus.

Tom Connell, a journalist with Sky News Australia, said: “Yes, it’s a very united push one for a global independent inquiry into COVID-19. Clearly, they have been focused a lot on the role of the WHO and also the role of China. What the Chinese Communist Party knew and when, and what was done to try to suppress the virus. So perhaps, in cases, what was not done.”

The Australian Financial Review reported on the 26th that Cheng Jingye, the Chinese ambassador to Australia, said Australia's pursuit of an independent investigation into the coronavirus pandemic was "dangerous" and could spark a boycott of students and tourists visiting Australia, as well as sales of popular agricultural products exports such as beef and wine. However, Australia did not back down.

Sky News Australia anchor Laura Jayes said, “The government is not backing down from a push inquiring into China's handling of coronavirus despite the threat from the Chinese ambassador.”

On the 27th, Foreign Minister Marise Payne responded to Cheng Jingye, saying that Australia’s call for an independent inquiry into the CCP virus comes at the right time and is a principled call. She added: “This is an unprecedented global crisis that has serious health, economic, and social implications. We reject any suggestion that economic duress is appropriate to respond to calls for such assessments. What we need at this time is global cooperation.”

British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace also expressed his support for the Australian call for an investigation into the CCP virus outbreak inside China. He said that during this "once-in-a-century" event, the world needs transparency and every government needs to learn the lessons presented by this event.

Australia should threaten China with taking back Port of Darwin: Christensen

LNP MP George Christensen said when responding to the coronavirus, Communist China “corralled the problem for themselves, and sent (the virus) across the world”.

Mr Christensen has called China’s recent trade actions against Australia a “bastard act,” and said it was far “too convenient and too much of a coincidence” that only weeks after the government called for a global inquiry into COVID-19, for China to then threaten tariffs.

China has given the nation’s barley producers ten days before potentially imposing close to an 80 per cent tax on its barley imports.

“These are not the actions of a reputable trading partner”.

This comes as an ongoing committee into the need for diversification in Australia’s trade relationships – chaired by Mr Christensen – is preparing to call on the ambassador to give testimony.

“China’s got form on this sort of coercion when it comes to trade and mixing trade with politics".

Mr Christensen told Sky News hosts Alan Jones and Graham Richardson Australia should consider using the clause in the Port of Darwin lease contract with China which renders the deal null and void in the case of a national security emergency.

“If we don’t get the beef and barley back pronto and stop talking about other industries, we can actually take some action of our own, then it is a trade war”.

Wuhan Virus Lab Quietly Deletes Photos to Avoid Responsibility

As the public started to focus on whether the Wuhan Institute of Virology leaked the CCP virus, the institute’s official website secretly deleted some references and photos in April. Commentators believe that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) wants to shift the blame by eliminating evidence.

On May 3, the British Daily Mail reported on photos showing Wuhan scientists handling bats without any safety precautions at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (Wuhan P4 Laboratory). The evidence has been systematically deleted from its official website. These photos show that during a series of processes in catching, sampling, and then dissecting and analyzing bats in the laboratory, Wuhan scientists wore minimal protective equipment while handling the deadly bats.
