Surprisingly, I have seen this virus bring out the better in people including spouses that may normally nag.

Yes the family is a bit stressed and on edge but in the grand scheme of things I think bad situations like this make you not take family and friends for granted.

Saw some dillweed on the news over the weekend claiming that this issue was a good reason for restricting purchase of guns during this crisis. He also claimed that people with no firearms experience will be buying guns and implied they will be leaving them unsecured around children and/or negligently discharging them. Maybe they should put restrictions on chainsaws and knives while they are at it. Please Uncle Sam..."SAVE US FROM OURSELVES". LOL.

Stats are already ticking up w/ domestic abuse calls. This is just normal (though it shouldn't be) and to be expected given circumstances.

Imagine what will happen when comms go dark for a short while? I've seen firsthand what happens to a whole region gets it w/ hurricane and no power for a week or longer.

It is not pretty.

This is my biggest fear!! Poor things are stuck at home with parents who already can't stand each other, many alcoholics and drug addicts. Kids have no where to go and frustrations get taken out on them. Even on each other while older siblings treat younger ones badly.

Back in the 1800s, everyone was locked in together in 1 or 2 room wood cabins. Distant has only made us grow further apart, not together.

People were forced to deal with and accept differences of opinion and thoughts.

Now everyone is a snowflake.

This site is a good example.

It's true in my town. My wife works in domestic violence and the calls are non-stop to her cell from arresting officers. Used to be one or two a week. Now it's at least one a day. She's had as many as 4 I'm one day. The thing is she is one of 12 people on a call list and they are all saying the same. Hell, she and I have a great relationship and we are getting on each other's last nerve at times. The difference being we aren't emotional toddlers so we get over it in short order. Remember, people are stupid.
