No

I work. I was the only vector. Everyone else has been inside since early feb.

Any visitors come by?

Any shopping trips by the Mrs.?

What about objects coming onto the property?

Food, mail/parcels, etc.

Does the mailman fondle your mailbox when they deliver the mail?

I hope this is not a disease. One that stays with you forever like HIV.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76177238

Has there ever really been a chronic/terminal disease that is acquired by breathing a pathogen in? I don’t mean lung cancer and things like that. But obviously something like HIV needs blood on blood transmission. A chronic disease that is airborne seems like it would be a first for the world.

Re: Wife diagnosed positive
HIGH DOSE vitamin C can help tremendously, I think cure her

the key is it has to be a very large dose ... we're talking 30 g a day minimum

when you are sick, you can handle that much in divided doses, say a few grams every hour

here is paper by Dr. Cathcart, MD that describes the method of treating illnesses, especially viral infections and viral pneumonia, with high dose oral vitamin C

a lot more info

Thread: Coronavirus (COVID-19): Intravenous and Oral Vitamin C
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 50412010

Think ya need iv liposomal C

What we drink/swallow will help but won’t be a knockout punch.

Only have a box of 120 packets of emergenC

1000mg

Your saying take 200 to 300 of those.

She has trouble drinking one of those nasty things.

But...is funny. Told her now we know how the kids felt when we made em take the nasty liquid medicines lol
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21924179

I'm taking the Sodium Ascorbate powder version of Vit. C. It is easier on the stomach. But it's loaded buffered with salt, so high blood pressure people might want to watch their blood pressure if taking any. One teaspoon is 4.8 grams/4800 mg. The taste isn't bad, as I mix it into other stuff like green tea or beet root juice.

Careful with the EmergenC w/Zinc, as you can overdose on zinc if you over-consume it.

...

You are doing well keeping her in bed for 3 weeks. How do you do it?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77557839

I would imagine this is her first real vacation in 20 years

Aside from the 3.4% dying chance.

And I’m having a blast playing board games and video games with the kids!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21924179

Be careful with board (and card) games if anyone is shedding the virus. Community touching and all.

Seems like a 3x/day surface disinfection need for all shared surfaces.

Do you mask, goggle & glove up like a healthcare worker when visiting your wife? (the mask can help keep you from spreading germs too)

Those box fans can be configured to make her room a neg-air isolation room if you have a window (if you aren't already doing this) by blowing germy room out out of the house.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74883622

I wonder if blowing everything out of the room would infect the neighbors...

No I don’t have the gloves goggles face mask that you suggest. My first priority was medicines, vitamins, food. The disposable income I had went to covering that first. I didn’t think we would catch it this soon. A lot of hand washing and prayer.

Shared surfaces...with kids...that’s everything LOL
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21924179

The good thing about the outdoors is that the wind does a good job of blowing particles away. Gone with the wind, so to speak.

If this virus is truly airborne, there is a theoretical possibility of infections within 30 ft of the source, but I think a decent wind will take care of it.

I do highly recommend, in your situation, continually disinfecting things and surfaces that multiple people in your household touch regularly, and to avoid touching shared things (like cards & board games, etc) when possible. Even a soapy water spray can do the trick.

Also, you can make face masks from cloth from around the house. If this virus can be caught again, you all might just keep re-infecting each other over & over without some serious virus mitigation. Hopefully, that's not the case.

Re: Wife diagnosed positive
Funny, because 100 years ago, this would not have been a big deal.

Your wife would have got sick, you might have told a couple of neighbors, 3 weeks later she would have gotten better, wne of story.

Now it's:

Such and such "TESTED POSITIVE" as if it was an event worth writing in the history books of the internet.

Who cares. People get sick every day.

This just happens to be a little more dangerous, but don't worry, nobody's going to become a celebrity because of this, except for the ones who already are famous of course.
They made sure to announce to the whole world that they were "tested positive", as if it's a fucking club or something.

Shit is getting ridiculous.

Posts here on GLP have been asking if anybody knows anybody at all whom tested positive.

If you took the post as celebratory, I assure you we don’t feel that way at all.
We wished to share our story, inform others, and collect feedback. We’re all in this together.

Speaking of a hundred years ago, why do people keep comparing Covid to the Spanish flu? We didn’t have as many; so many people on life saving medicines. Back then most people were healthy and strong. Imagine the death toll if the Spanish flu hit with todays underlying health concerns. I would imagine a lot more than 550k people would have died.

What info did they give you OP. Anything promising about your wife? Did they tell you when your outside the danger zone?

I live in Breeze. Have same symptoms. No cough -and temp is just 99, back pain, tightness in chest and tired. so the hotline would not approve me for test.

I have my wife and kids with me in house for the last 3 weeks. They have zero symptoms.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76381844

Why is that suspicious? My doctor or her nurse contacts me via email (through a secure patient portal) all the time. It's way easier than waiting for a call back or playing phone tag.

Some people have lives and sometimes there is a delay in responding.

IOW, neither of those lead to questions about OP's veracity.
Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up, and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable - a most sacred right - a right, which we hope and believe, is to liberate the world. -- Abraham Lincoln

The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion. -- Albert Camus
