ORICHALCUM, THE LOST METAL OF ATLANTIS, MAY HAVE BEEN FOUND ON A SHIPWRECK OFF SICILY
A group of naval archeologists has uncovered two hundred ingots spread over the sandy seafloor near a 2,600-year-old shipwreck off the coast of Sicily. The ingots were made from orichalcum, a rare cast metal that ancient Greek philosopher Plato wrote was from the legendary city of Atlantis.

Re: ORICHALCUM, THE LOST METAL OF ATLANTIS, MAY HAVE BEEN FOUND ON A SHIPWRECK OFF SICILY
so plato wrote about this stuff which sets the date to being before 400 bc by our mainstream history.

it seems like there are more and more discoveries being made of our past civilization being more advanced than previously thought. If you look at the majority of our ruins/monoliths/megaliths being more and more advanced the father back you go, evidenced by the size of the blocks and construction methods, the idea of Atlantis makes perfect sense.

maybe a congregation of the survivors after the great cataclysm, who still possessed some of the ancient knowledge. These survivors traveled to all parts of the globe to teach and instruct. The classic roman architecture found ALL over the world is probably their construct. As we lost the knowledge from generation to generation, the building methods become more and more primitive.

ah here we sit, wallowing in our own excrement.

I wonder what type of ideology they had or what their understanding of cosmology was. For them to understand the physical world to the point of being able to create those ancient structures, they must have understood much of this reality. Certainly more than we do today.

So the other post over there about Orichalcum points out that that ore is actually just bronze, before they called it bronze.

Orichalcum has been held to be either a gold-copper alloy, a copper-tin or copper-zinc brass, or a metal or metallic alloy no longer known.

Orichalcum may have been a noble metal such as platinum, as it was supposed to be mined, or one type of bronze or brass or possibly some other metal alloy. In 2015, metal ingots were found in an ancient shipwreck in Gela (Sicily), which were made of an alloy primarily consisting of copper, zinc and small percentages of nickel, lead, and iron.

Orichalcum is just the ancient name for "Bronze"

The name literally translates as "Mountain Copper".
( In ancient Greek "Mountain" is synonymous with "Strong" )

So "Strong Copper" was Bronze , the name eventually fell out of use and was replaced with broúntzos....several generations later as Greek scholars found old writings describing a valuable metal called "Orichalum" they didn't realize it was actually just bronze because the cost of bronze had dropped a great deal.

Similar things have happened before , the "Unicorn" is just what Europeans imagined when reading descriptions of a rhinoceros,
(thats why the "Magical Properties" of rhino and unicorn horns are nearly identical.)

Re: ORICHALCUM, THE LOST METAL OF ATLANTIS, MAY HAVE BEEN FOUND ON A SHIPWRECK OFF SICILY
The term Orichalcum is a classical ancient word used to describe a Cu-Zn-based alloy with a discrete percentage of Zn (5–28%)1,2, and similar in appearance to the modern brass. Higher in value than the bronze, this alloy was melted in the form of ingots3 and then used to obtain different kind of objects both in the ancient4,5,6 and modern times7.

they now have samples on hand, since 2015. If it is bronze, why don't they just say it is bronze. It would serve mainstream better to just downplay this and pretend we were barbarians in the past, right?

Re: ORICHALCUM, THE LOST METAL OF ATLANTIS, MAY HAVE BEEN FOUND ON A SHIPWRECK OFF SICILY
The cementation process, used to produce the Cu-Zn alloy, was improved and developed by ancient Romans for the coinage and production of different kind of artefacts1,2,11,12. This process consisted of using crucibles with specific size and shape to reach thermodynamic requirements for orichalcum production. The diffusion of the vapours of zinc into the copper melt produced a Cu-Zn based alloy with a maximum content of Zn near 30%. The maximum content of zinc in orichalcum was mainly controlled by temperature, partial pressure of Znvapour and the redox conditions12. The transformation of zinc oxide into metal required (strongly) reducing conditions, with a minimum temperature of about 900 °C. This temperature threshold represents the boiling point of zinc, necessary to produce the vapour phase of zinc1,13. The re-oxidation process and the suitable partial pressure of zinc were provided during cementation process by the use of closed crucibles13,14.

doesn't sound like bronze

Yes there was. And Lemuria. Ancient lands. Constant reshaping of continents occurs. For example, BC is fused onto the pacific plate from tropical islands. Some broke apart and were submerged.

There were ancient cycles of man. Millions of years old, let alone this time frame which was much more recent, many thousands of years ago. This wasn't so long that the records ceased. Because there are ancient records of Atlantis and Mu.
