He's basically saying "Stay at home, unless you need to do something away from your home. Oh, and stay 6 feet away from other people." Not exactly a lockdown, but still... Strange, especially since the AZ Head of FEMA resigned: Effective immediately, yesterday. VERY weird. She said it was because "her role is being addressed by other agencies and her “presence and function is duplicative” during the COVID-19 pandemic." Uh huh. There's something else going on. She was with FEMA for almost 24 years. [link to www.washingtontimes.com (secure)] Exactly, on all this. Talk about a nothingburger. This changes nothing at all, and was basically just a PR stunt by Ducey you try to get the heat off, as a lot of people and organizations are asking why he isn't implementing a true lockdown. And the thing with the head of AZ FEMA - I can't wait to hear what she has to say, and we should hear something Wednesday or Thursday, when her term of employment officially ends. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9648205 The states where people are not locked down are just going to spread this far and wide. Unless a state was uniquely immune from this - which no state is - then there should be one Federal set of rules or one Federal lockdown for a set period of time. And no domestic flights until the lockdown expires. Essential ground travel only, shopping, work, medical appointments. Trump's gotta start making some tough calls or we're all gonna be in and out lockdowns for the next two or three years... fucking ridiculous! I disagree. The country is too big. Conditions vary tremendously from one-place to another. I can't imagine DC knowing what's better for where I live than people who live here. |
