I would hate to be pregnant now. I feel so bad for those women, I wouldn't want to give birth if I didn't get any numbing medicine from the waist down. I don't think mid wives give pain killers, fuck that.

God cursed women to have painful births, why would anyone be ok with that? We are no longer under that curse.

You are overreacting. The maternity wards are locked down from exposure to the other wings. If your baby is healthy the will have you out within 24 hours.

How do I know this? My wife and I just had a kid a week ago.

The midwife could have it and not know. Go to a hospital locally that typically is low volume during normal times. That way it won’t have the surge and thus less exposure. That is what we did.

I'll tell the birthing story of my son. MY (ex)wife woke up at about 4am and called the midwife, she let me sleep. She made me coffee. She got onto our guest bed (the loft bedroom was not high enough for such purposes plus you needed to go up and down stairs), under the loft stairs.

WHen I got up and had my coffee (I drank it at that time), Oz the midwife was there and then the pangs started. No drugs administered. Nico was on her hands and knees but her head was pointed towards the loft steps (DOuglas fir and old and hard), so I held her head as a buffer between the staris and her...and rubbed the small of her back and lightly sang.

Oz called another midwife, who tended to our daughter and the grandmother. We were all fine on the bed so best just to make tea and simply be in presence. ANyhow, Nico started to give birth and the plan was for me to catch my son. Well, Oz said he has crowned you can come and catch him.
I stopped rubbing her back and holding her head from bashing into the stairs (hey I was younger and fricking confused!).

Well, that did not go over well and all I recall was Nico screaming 'if you stop rubbing my back and holding my back I will fucking kill you!' so I went back to my appointed task and my son popped out! Oz caught him but this is where this thread comes in.

Nico ripped and we didn't want to go to the hospital so, we dealt with it. DOn't stop the bleeding unless you have hit a vein. The blood will stop when it clots. Let the blood flow. We used a towel or 3, and then all of a sudden it clotted and Nico lives 3/4 of a mile up the road or so from me and is in perfect health. The son walks back and forth and we do dinners.

But, this is a big BUT, what of those people who are about to birth, hence this thread. AC's wife above is 6 months pregnant. So Chasity your disdain of childbirth without painkillers is not much of a help. It adds to fear. I'll keep bumping this for months because, there are a lot of people in fear. WHo wants to go to a hospital right now? They are seemingly empty or stuffed to overcapacity?

I'm hoping people far more fluent in homebirth chime in because I was a bystander/head holder/back rubber for my sons birth. ANd I can not imagine what young men know about any other protocol then 'go to hospital, white robed guy brings me a baby' most people have of childbirth. Meh.

It might smarten a lot of young men and women up to the fact that pain is part of birth for all involved. And that life is full of suffering, and that the 'whitecoats' magickal injection might not be available and you just might have to wing it. And that time might just be right now. I'd do it again, by myself, if I were younger and wanted another child. And avoid hospitals...like the plague.
If you are not busy weaving your own magick, you are trapped in anothers spell.

Oh yeah, thanks for reminding us of that taint rip and needing an Episiotomy. I'll never forget the nurse accidentally left my numbing iv on while I got sewn up, I was truly blessed by God during my childbirths. The feeling in my legs eventually came back but it's not like I had to walk afterwards, I was wheeled up to my room laying on my cozy birthing bed.

What if the woman needs a c-section? My other 2 were delivered that way too so I can rest assured I am not cursed by God.

I would hate to be cursed by God.

Giving birth is pretty natural and should work. i never see major problems in 3rd world countries or war zones.
Also many are pregnant since 9 months ago there was no outlook on corona. and 9 months from now i bet even more people will be having kids lol

edit: two people i know have had their kid in the recent week and it was business as usual

I usually like your posts

My first kid would still be in there and we would both have died without surgery ... my husband had a VERY large head - so do the kids

I understand the idea that it’s natural

I KNOW it can kill the mother and child

Don’t start quoting about how third world countries have easier births

Has no relevance to someone that is PREGNANT NOW !

Stick to the subject

if you want to go all natural ... do like the most mammal mothers ...

Human placentophagy
, or consumption of the placenta, is defined as "the ingestion of a human placenta postpartum, at any time, by any person, either in raw or altered (e.g., cooked, dried, steeped in liquid) form".[1] Numerous historical occurrences of placentophagy have been recorded throughout the world, whereas modern occurrences of placentophagy are rare since most contemporary societies do not promote its practice. Since the 1970s, however, consumption of the placenta believing that it has health benefits has been a growing practice among clients of midwives and alternative-health advocates in the U.S. and Mexico.[1]

Human placentophagy is undergoing a small revival in Western cultures,[2] fostered by celebrities like January Jones.[3] Human placentophagy after childbirth is touted by some as a treatment for postpartum depression and fatigue, among other health benefits, given its high protein, rich iron and nutrient content.

I'm having a baby girl. I had the thought of of a midwife recently but I had been committed to my doctor and sort of feel like it's too late. I have a planned c section also. The hospital in delivering in is not full of people though. It's a womens hospital.

I delivered my daughter at home with her mother and the midwife did not make it in time. We delivered from a seating position off the toilet and everything worked out great.

My daughter is in college to become a midwife

The other side to this is in this world we live in now, it is the only chance for a human to be paperless, vaccine free, and chip free? Integration will be difficult The natural child birthing process will become illegal

My wife is due in August with our first child. The Doctor told me to prepare that I won’t be allowed in the hospital, not room. Whole hospital. I am not allowed to attend prenatal appointments anymore as well. This is so sad. I loved going to see the baby with the ultrasound and that bond my wife and I got to share. I’ll be in the car on FaceTime and hopefully she will feel like I am in the room with her. I am okay they are taking precautions, just wished it wasn’t the case.

Don't know of one.. but I probably should find one.
Wife is over 6 months pregnant and i'm clueless on what to do honestly if shit really hits the fan.
As it sits now.. we're worried that her preference of c-section may not be possible at that time. Hospitals probably won't be safe.. fff..

I am currently sitting in the hospital with my wife and newborn waiting for them to be discharged. We were nervous previously, but it seems like the hospital had dedicated resources for child birthing unaffected by the Wuhan virus. Were located in a budding hotspot, so it could just be resources aren't strained yet. Everything seems pretty normal other than people mentioning the Wuhan virus

Saw a story about this the other morning. Some doctors can order an At Home Birth Kit. It was mentioned a lot of insurance companies won't pay for it. Must be rather expensive but not sure how much.

It supposedly contains essential items and the fee includes streaming to a doctor live during the process.

I had all four of my babies at home. I would never do it any other way. Home birth is a totally safer. Pregnancy is not a disease. I would look for a midwife now. They are going to be at a premium. With my youngest, my midwife did not arrive in time, so my husband delivered our baby girl. I live in Indiana and when I had mine, home birth was illegal. We did it anyway. I had an amazing midwife. Now my daughters 19 and 13 want to have their babies at home when they get older and start families. Feel free to pm me with any questions.

for quite a long time, too many "general" h0spitals are hotbeds for their own drug resistant infections
and all were better off when there were seperate/distinct areas for obstetrics/gyn registered patients, distinct
rules for visiting, seperate building for clinics etc.
Sometimes, what WORKED and kept down numbers of acquired infections should have been left in place.
Birthing centers must be a wonderful place, everyone's cleared/no infections,no outsiders roaming around, etc

When I took my doula class in herbal school I was told to get this book.

I sent a message to a friend who is in midwife school and assisted with my birth at home. I'm sure she will give you some info. I sent her this thread link.

My herbalist teacher was Sam Coffman with Herbal Medics. He offers a class for people wanting to learn about home births.

Here is his school, you can email his wife about the class.
