Corona virus thread for all of us retail workers | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 76979630 United States 03/31/2020 06:44 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | With the corona virus spreading like crazy, at what point would you stop coming to work? Would you wait until one of your coworkers get infected? Would you stick it out until the very end, even if it means that you get infected? Or are you thinking about leaving your job before anything bad happens at your workplace? I have family that is urging me to stop going to work, but I need the paycheck, and its hard to know exactly how much danger I am in. I would like to hear how other retail workers feel about the situation, and what you plan on doing if things continue to get worse. Quoting: dpow I am a vendor/merchandiser for Walmart. As soon as my govenor shut down my husband's work, I took all my vacation, and then I'm allowed 2 weeks unpaid, no questions asked. So I'm good until april 20th. I figure walmart is front line because so many come in to that store. I guess after april 20th, I will lose my job. I would rather stay healthy as long as possible, instead of taking risks at work. Good luck! |

Right now they are requiring (per state regulations) only asking a set of questions before we clock in if we are experiencing any symptoms, been in contact with a confirmed positive person, or traveled internationally recently. If we say "yes" to any single question them we're out of work for at least 7 days unpaid. If they get to the point where we have to get tested or do forehead temp scans or any mark of the beast shit then I'll quit right then and there. My boss knows my stance and I think he holds the same belief as well. I'm waiting to see how this plays out. I'm not afraid of any boogeyman virus psyop. I sincerely hope I get sick and die before I witness what may come next for everyone. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77098490 Is it really that hard to understand? Holy shit People need groceries, so we can't all quit. I'm just trying to figure out where most retail workers plan on drawing the line between staying or quitting. Last Edited by dpow on 03/31/2020 09:34 AM |
