Something is very wrong with death classification...

As some of you know, I had a close family member die very recently. While they had been ill for a long time, their death was still quite sudden and unexpected because they went from maintaining to dead in a matter of days.

This person had a very specific DNR and they were never intubated however supplemental comfort oxygen and morphine for labored breathing were given toward the end.

We got the death certificate today and it was listed as likely coronavirus infection based not on facts but on the disease progression and end of life treatments.

I can guarantee you had this person's death taken place 10 years ago it would have gone the exact same way. Coronavirus was not a factor.

Additionally, I know of other cases where people have recently "died of COVID-19" but there was never a positive diagnosis, just all based on disease progression and treatment protocols. I can guarantee you these people were already dying of something else but those CODs were hijacked.

Apparently, if breathing treatments, intubation, supplemental oxygen or morphine due to labored breathing are any part of a person's end of life circumstances, they are diagnosed as likely Covid infection.

Don't believe me? I don't care but go ahead and call around to your local funeral homes and ask them if they are overrun or if they can help you if you need their services.

The fact is there is no crazy uptick in the number of deaths that happen on any given day for numerous reasons. Funeral homes aren't running out of space. Crematoriums aren't running 24/7.

Think people.

Is coronavirus a thing? Absolutely. It is real and contagious. But how likely are these same people dying of it also likely to be dead soon anyway?

This is very upsetting. I feel like something has been stolen from my grieving when I saw the death certificate today.
