Enough to clean out the scarce supplies before anyone else gets a crack at it and then they come out to the one store that has a twice weekly early hour for essential workers and try their best to clean it out then too. And give you dirty looks because you're in the store during their hour. "Yes, yes. Zathras is used to being beast of burden to other people's needs. Very sad life. Probably have very sad death. Anonymous Coward User ID: 78689127 United States 04/01/2020 05:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This morning around 10 am, I went to a local midwest walmart where we have both COVID cases and deaths in our county. The store was well stocked even after payday and TP was no longer being limited. There was a sale for a generic brand TP at 4 rolls for 68 cents. I saw no hoarding. The store was not busy, but had a steady low stream of customers. People kept their distances from each other and the floors are marked every six feet at the checkouts. We have early shopping from 7 am to 8 am for the elderly and immunocompromised. To be honest, the stores have been better stocked with some things than before this crisis. Stuff that was often slow to restock before COVID has been on the shelfs and in greater quantities. I see no need to shop online because deliveries take much longer than usual. I havent seen across the board increases and the stuff i buy is the exact same price or on sale for less, like the 4 roll TP. Chicken and eggs seem to be consistently lower in stock than usual, as well as paper products, cleaning supplies. Non food items arent really selling at all. Their dedicated shelves are stocked full of easter crap, and other spring stuff that is just wasting space. |

Quoting: Yo Adrian Before this there were just 2lb boxes for $33. This doom is getting delicious. Covid 19 supposedly started from Seafood. Enjoy. Bats are seafood now? Their dedicated shelves are stocked full of easter crap, and other spring stuff that is just wasting space. I'm really surprised at that, this is a good time to be getting other stuff while people are worried about TP, paper towels and shelf stable food. I've been strolling through the outdoors section getting buys on clearance fishing supplies, going through the garden section getting my seeds. Grabbing some pool shock now that it's been put out. Almost have all of my gasoline cans full. (please let someone put gas cans on clearance...) Maybe I complain about the shortages that everyone is seeing but I am adapting to other solutions and taking advantage of opportunities when they present themselves. Pretty sure that rummage sale season is gonna suck this year so I'm hoping to build on what I have with the stuff that people are overlooking. "Yes, yes. Anonymous Coward User ID: 76984449 United States 04/01/2020 09:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It seemed to be getting better last week but this week it is clearly worse. Laundry detergent is being stocked where the disinfectant cleaner is supposed to be. Not only are the TP and paper towels completely empty but so are paper plates and bowls. Canned soup, rice, beans, instant mashed potatoes and a litany of other storable foods are either well picked over or completely gone. Shoot, it's hard to get tortillas unless you know where to look. Quoting: Lowkey Cyberpunk And the price of eggs is exploding. Paid $.79/dozen for large eggs at the beginning of the week, now it's $2.17 if you can find them. Tape on the floor everywhere, plexiglass screens everywhere. The only thing that I haven't seen (yet) is a limit on customers at any one time. I’ve noticed eggs are always expensive around Easter. Maybe they will get cheaper after it is over. |
