California wants to cancel school for the rest of the year

I teach in San Bernardino County, California. Our schools are closed until May 4, which everyone thinks is overkill. Now the State Superintendent of Public Instruction is strongly suggesting that all schools need to just close until the end of the year.

My Superintendent is in a meeting right now with the other school superintendents in our county. He is pretty mad about it. We have 183 cases in our huge county and only 6 deaths. Last week we had 111 cases and 4 deaths, so this isn't growing at the rate they said it would when we first closed up shop.

There is no reason to close for the rest of the year. Just another example of something about this is fucky.
