I haven't even started into my emergency alcohol stash, but I've been thinking about some vodka this Friday night just because it's supposed to be such a nice day.

I figured they would close the package stores so I stocked up. God only knows what I am going to do with all of it. I guess when we are out of hibernation I will have a big ol' party! LOL!

somebody told me tonic water has quinine so I went and bought some gin and tonic.

Then somebody told me I would need to drink a case of Tonic water to get 1 days dose of quinine

so I went and bought a whole lot more gin and Tonic.

don't know if it prevents the virus but it sure tastes good

Well, let's see. Old Wharf loves his beer, that's for sure. But because of losing my job, I stocked up on vodka, and cheap, crappy beers.

The result is, I'm actually probably drinking slightly less than usual (maybe 6-8 beers per day, instead of 10-12). I can't really drink vodka, but I got a big supply now, just in case the liquor stores shut down, haha.

Thing is, my "old" routine was clock out from work, have my free after-shifter (I worked at a sports bar), then hit the liquor store and get a 12-pack of really delicious beer.

My "new" routine, it's not really as fun to drink crappy beer. I mean, it does the trick, but I'm definitely drinking less.

The other big change now, is that since I don't have to go to work (and in fact, am ordered by the Governor to remain indoors), I can start drinking as early in the day that I want. So, it's kinda like my old weekends, haha.

Also, I have a natural "cut off", where once I'm intoxicated, my body just doesn't want any more. So, if I start drinking in the morning, by noon I'm already done for the day.

Anyway sorry for the long ramble, haha. Great thread, it's honestly making me thirsty!



(PS-- does your country have "legal" weed? Your earlier post said you haven't had any in a while-- is that because of laws, or another reason?)

I am definitely drinking more. I haven't drank this much in years. I am usually a once a month or every 2 month drinker. Ive been drinking like twice a week. Im really upset about this and trying to stop.

I'm working from home, so at about 2 or 3 p.m. I get mighty tired of looking at my computer, but don't quit working so I have a tendency to grab a small glass of wine. It breaks up the monotony a little bit.

Yeah, it's like a narcotic to me. Not something that is desired, except for when you need to mellow the fuck out and relax. Except when hanging out in bars, but we don't need to worry about THAT right now.

Yup. I saw this coming back at the end of January, and started getting a few bottles everytime I went out. Now I got enough to re-stock the liquor store again lol. That's ok, because it never goes bad, and it has many uses, not just to get drunk.

I'll be having lots of big parties this summer. It will be just me because I have no friends or neighbors, but it will still be an awesome party!

what kind of vodka are you drinking?

and straight? chilled, or mixed?

i'm drinking mostly straight, neat whiskey. a lot of scotch, and some bourbon. a beer or a glass of red once in a while ot mix things up.

I'm drinking less because I switched to Coors Banquet and when the store ran out of that to Coors Lite. I've had to supplement these inferior beers with an occasional Heineken or Stella.

I think the brand is Lairds. it's not even real vodka, it's just called that. It's just cheap grain alcohol with a vodka label slapped on it. It's the cheapest kind they have at the liquor store, no one buys it, which is why I have so much. It's actually not bad. I mix it with sprite or OJ and enjoy it.

But I normally don't drink liquor. I prefer my beer. I've got enough of that for at least 2 more weeks. The beer stores are still open here so I probably won't run out.

been long gone from the states, but back in the day, coors lite was "our" go to beer. i don't know why.

heineken here is like bud. stella is a bit more special.
i've been into the more hearty darks, porters and stouts, but, they pack on the pounds. stay safe
