Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78546240 Our fridge/freezer went caput 10 days ago. Supposed to get fixed today if all parts are in. Living with the small garage (beer) freezer and three large coolers. Could be worse, but it's kind of a hassle. "For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light." |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78629642 Canada 04/03/2020 08:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I live in Ontario, Canada. Went to one of my local grocery stores yesterday to pick up a few things. The store wasn’t busy and I didn’t have to wait in line to get in. The store was pretty much fully stocked, with good selection. Tons of meat, eggs and milk were available. There was lots of fresh fruit and produce, too. There’s also no price gouging going on, as I paid $3.00 for a flat of 18 eggs that were imported from the US. There were a few small areas where stock was low or the store had nothing available. I even found toilet paper and paper towels but supplies of these were low. In short, it looks like the panic buying and hoarding has subsided and that the supply chains are more or less functioning as they should. At least here in Canada we’re not particularly dependent on imports as 70% of what’s available in the grocery stores is produced in Canada. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 76984449 United States 04/03/2020 08:47 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I saw TP at my little local grocer late last night. He had several cases of commercial TP. selling single rolls for $1/each. Quoting: jt210 Expensive shit May as well but some cheap sand paper. Would work the same as that cheap shit. Nope not me - only the best Charmin for my butthole. Yeah, I aint buying that commercial stuff. We routinely have a couple months supply of TP on hand. We always buy in bulk. Same with paper towels. Dont fret. We had the same here in Tampa area a week ago. Everone has eggs now. Price went the fuck up, but we have eggs. Paid $4.50 for 18 extra large eggs. Eggs always go up near Easter. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 76984449 United States 04/03/2020 08:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm buying for myself, my parents, and my grandmother, and shopping was horrible for me today. Very busy, long lines at the checkout, naturally all spaced 1.5m apart, and naturally everyone has a shopping cart overflowing. And also not surprisingly they only had 50% of the checkouts open. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78681001 Found a pack of 24 rolls so why not...still no hand sanitizer, no liquid hand soap, nothing at all that has disinfectant or anti-bacterial in its description. People mostly keeping their distance, though some acting like it was a normal Friday, no masks, some with gloves. I did notice that the employees tend to not practice any social distancing with each other, some standing around chatting like nothing. Only a matter of time before an infections start running through these places and they get shut down. The plastic barriers are up now. You have to pack your own groceries, though the checkout chick packed mine for some reason. I got the feeling she was just happy I wasn't abusing her, she seemed relieved when I was polite. Too many people inside. I walked out feeling as though I need to be sprayed down, felt filthy. If your liquor stores are still open go get a bottle of vodka and put it in small spray bottles. They have them at the dollar tree. Makes a great hand sanitizer. |

Yea they were out of some things but I did not get the feeling of doom. Could be I live in an area that is not NYC level? Not sure but it was certainly not as bad as I heard from our local d00my news channels. Quoting: IFartInYourDirection There were many people wearing masks and gloves. No one seemed to be "prepper" shopping. Looked like normal every cart contents to me. So idk wtf the point of this thread is. Just seems like there is more doom talk than actual doom. The more you pop the doom pill, the more you depend on it. Most People on here are doom addicts, and they abuse it in an irresponsible manner. Using times of actual duress to push their social doomsday agenda (like a comet hitting the earth) whereas the smart ones will divulge in doom from time to time, but don't lean on it as a crutch. Reality to them is the doom. So These ones would rather not indulge to the after effects of doom (depression, suicidal thoughts, etc) and instead, opt to be neutral observers and witnesses to the psychological drone melt that is GLP. Enjoy responsibly. Dont doom and drive. |

Meat was empty in one store, but the other store had plenty. Plenty of water though and juice. That was in 3 stores I normally go to. I don't know the walmart or meijer situation for I won't go into those stores. That was on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Maybe they'll get a shipment in today or Monday. Whatever I set myself up weeks ago anyhow so was just topping shit off when I went except shit paper. Gonna have to use paper towels wipe the old ass in a week or so lol |

User ID: 78262312 United States 04/03/2020 09:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Most things (for now) will still be available in most grocery stores; however, I personally know someone pretty high up within a major grocery chain, and they are saying that there are pretty major supply chain disruptions on many “essentials.” We all know about paper products and hand sanitizers already, but many are also noticing that meat is scarce, particularly chicken and beef. Just so ya know, this is not the result of “panic buying.” So, it may be prudent to buy those products as you see them, even if not needed. There could come a point very soon when you won’t see that again for a long time. Within the surreal depths of "reality" lies the truth. |

User ID: 77457813 United States 04/03/2020 09:21 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Went for an online ordered grocery pickup yesterday. I was ordering for myself, my mom who is 97, my next door neighbor who is 81, and a disabled friend (autoimmune disease and host of other issues). The store will not do substitutions. I ordered $430 of food and got $307.00. I didn't order any paper products. Among the missing items, Chicken Breasts, Chopped Meat, Gator Aid, Ketchup and BBQ Sauce. Oh, and a free item for Easter (by spending over $400 the previous 5 weeks) which, again, I said any free item and they wouldn't fill it. The store is in extreme NW NJ. I observed all the people who were assembling the order and came to the conclusion I will have to go into the store and shop. This is a Shoprite Store and when this is over, they lost my business because it is a total cluster. The home delivery people know nothing of the website. The website almost crashed on Sunday, and the list goes on how poorly it is ran. Another neighbor went to Walmart of all places for a pickup and got everything except two items, which were both paper products. justavet In the end, our regrets are for what we didn't do, not for what we did. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78573258 Canada 04/03/2020 09:33 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I went to Walmart yesterday. It was definitely a strange shopping visit. A couple people were wearing masks. An employee who was in charge of the shopping carts outside was wearing a mask. They put up a barrier around the front doors and there was an employee sitting there, limiting how many people could go in the Walmart at a time. She was not wearing a mask. I thought that was weird, since she is the one coming into contact with EVERY person. Inside, as I came out of one aisle a Walmart employee (really loud, you know the type, really loud person when they tell you something) said: "Excuse me, the aisles are one way now due to Covid19 to encourage social distancing. We ask that you follow the arrows on the floor." (They put stickers on the floor that had photos of arrows). So weird. The shelves were pretty full. The only sections that were a little bare were the meat and the toilet paper. But there was toilet paper. Only thing was for a moderate size pack, it was $19!!!! They were price gouging! |

PS If you have a nice car, please prep it by putting it on blocks and placing gas extender in the tank. |
