Most of my neighbors grow food, have cattle, sheep, goats, chickens, and we all have deer running around the farms. I also grow food and we're waiting on chicks. We're building our own hen house with the help of Mennonite farmers. This is going to be the long haul but we're out in the middle of nowhere and its all good.

Americans would not steal from other Americans. Americans are the sweetest kindest most charitable people in the planet. Right? .. Right? Somebody agree with me, please?

Everything will be cool here with the Americans. It is all the other people here that could be a problem. They came here for the free ride. They won't like it if that stops.

That will probably be 6-7 million within the next 2 weeks, and then probably 40 million a week after that.

Well it is written in the good book, that those who fail to prepare are on their own, as they have been warned!

It is to late to put up years worth of food insurance that time has passed! If you are not prepared and are given another opportunity to do so will they? Fuck no they will not!!!

Have they started a garden? Small animals? Nope but they do have a new car, big screen and the newest electronic device!

They do nothing but complain how others should feed them!
Their plan not to prepare, is a plan to fail!

Bugged out of LA 10 days ago, Lucky to have a home in a good rural area, with a river in the back yard. A green house that pops built RIP and thank you DAD! He passed 1/3/19 and Mom passed 12/20/19 Last Christmas.

As I sit here in my/his green house, upgrading to the cost of thousands of dollars, in zone 6b it is 30d f outside, 58d f inside my 100 ish starter plants are close to a foot tall, Starting several hundred more this week end! as many of my neighbors have started building or preparing their gardens and I will supply them with plants.

Another $2k to the small animal housing, for the chickens, rabbits quail and my tilapia.

Over the decades, I have learned to be self reliant at a cost of 10s of thousands, and we have gone without many things in order to be prepared, and now the nothing burgers think I should share! Did they take me on their vacations?

Just posted n other thread about our local grocery supply. Small community with one big chain and small chain plus dollar stores. Supplies unusually low, IMHO. I wonder if supplies are being slowed or running out? Glad, to be a prepper which I have not touched yet but sure seems could happen sooner than anticipated?

Thank God for GLP!! We knew to prep for this years in advance.

And even if someone only found GLP in February all the info they needed to know they should prep was here.

I only wish those paid posters that called this 'nothing' and a 'hoax' had not been here to discourage people that truly needed help in deciding what to do. The 'nothing' posters wrote that to hurt others.

I just finished my weekly shopping. Stores are still low on supplies. I can't believe some people still think that we won't have interruptions in our food supply. Not to mention those who have lost their jobs and have no money to buy any food. Yes some of them are those that made bad decisions, but some were working and struggling to hold things together. I surely remember my childhood when parents would get laid off from the local factory once or twice a year. We learned to garden and can and stretch our dollars. All of us kids were expected to contribute. People will need to relearn how to do that or learn how for the first time. I'm afraid a lot of people are too many generations from living off the land.

While I have normally done most cooking I have had to take over all cooking in my home.

I will cook a meal knowing how much we will eat, what I can do with leftovers, and how a I will store it.

My wife will cook a full sized meal, eat one portion, and throw away five remaining servings.

That is unacceptable. She may find herself living in the shed as LJS suggested if she continues like that.

She also suffers from a different problem: an 'irresistible urge to go out and try to spread contagion'.

I'm perfectly happy staying home. My blood pressure is that of a teenager at home and that of an old person at my job. Staying home agrees with me.

Yesterday again my Mrs. went shopping at six stores and today is determined that she will drive the one hundred miles to visit her elderly friends at their home at the river.

I can't tell her what to do, but have made it clear if they get sick and die it is 100% on her for not caring and refusing to remain at home and I will never have it in me to forgive her if she does.

Apparently shaming her works. She is now not driving the one hundred miles needed to kill her elderly friends.

Absolutely, communities need to have each other's backs.

I would love to have a few chickens, but my neighborhood doesn't want them and with all the bears it probably wouldn't be a great idea, anyway.

I planted several fruit trees this year, so I won't have anything from them for awhile yet, but sometime in the future (if I can keep the deer from munching down on all the buds). I finally had to put up a temporary deer. My neighbors all seem to want to make pets of the pests, so they walk right up to my yard and think I'm purposely feeding them or something. My next purchase is going to be a paintball gun and some rubber balls.

Exactly. Carbs are good if you have a very active job. But most people don’t and get super fat. Feed fat people only meat and watch the weight fall off.

If her elderly friends had her come inside well shame on them also. Glad she stayed home. Hopefully she will get some common sense. Talk to her about the food situation. Even in plenty it is not good to throw food away.

Our food bank on Kauai has been robbed twice in the past month. They’ve now had to hire security.

Veggies are not what humans are meant to eat never was and never will be. The veggies you eat now for the most part did not exist in their current form even 100 years ago.

Where I am if we run out we shoot an elk or a turkey wild game is everywhere all the time one elk can feed a family of four for at least two months. You guys need to get out and hunt more. Deer, elk, bear, turkey, boar., fish .... it’s whats for dinner

We are meat eaters, but I have 2 nights a week that are no meat nights. It's help the health and budget. If necessary that can be expanded. My hubby still has lunchmeat for lunch though on the no meat nights.
