I was speechless all I could do was thank her. It just made my day and when I start back full time at work I’ll definitely pay it forward. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77957638 This thread just doesnt make any sense I don't understand how you don't understand. A woman paid for the OP's groceries. It was a random act of kindness and the OP shared the story here. Understand? I'm guessing the part they don't understand, is the fact that the OP obviously had the MONEY to pay, since she was in the checkout line with $157 worth of groceries. Why would someone offer to pay for them, and why would the OP accept the offer? Something doesn't make sense here. Payer is scared. She’s Buying A Stairway To Heaven. . She said she had 3 kids and no money to feed them. I might have done it if she had had less, like maybe 20 bucks worth of good food, but her cart was full of junk food, donuts, chips, candy, etc. At least $200 worth. I told her I couldn't but the food banks are still open. This is my happening and it freaks me out! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78647316 I turned him down, told him someone else probably needed it more. Still, the offer made my day Maybe he came to the sobering realization he's making way too much money to be preaching the word of God. Churches should be helping the poor not buying houses for elders, but that's my opinion. Good of him to offer anyway. |

Let's not forget that underneath all the arguing, we all want the best for each other, even if we disagree on how to get there. |

She usually goes through the drive thru and tells them she would like to pay for the person behind her. Seems to be the trend...women 70%, men 30%, when I've done it I was already buying a single woman with child's stuff anyhow. User ID: 35818575 United Kingdom 04/05/2020 07:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Good, it's great to hear of a kind act. When I went to the supermarket yesterday, I was shocked to see a queue of (guessing) 100 or so outside, and resigned myself to forget it, as having arthritis in my spine and a recently broken ankle, I just could not stand for that long to get in. The people at the front of the queue overheard me asking the staff policing entry whether they have a time dedicated for disabled shoppers, and they invited me to stand in front of them, which I gratefully accepted. The last time I shopped, I let a confused & angry old bloke take my place in the queue for the till, despite feeling like I was ready to drop. Just small kindnesses help make a difference, and I know there are people out there who still care for each other, so the horrible bastards haven't taken over. Love by Sir Walter Scott In peace, Love tunes the shepherd’s reed; In war, he mounts the warrior’s steed; In halls, in gay attire is seen; In hamlets, dances on the green. Love rules the court, the camp, the grove, And men below and saints above; For love is heaven, and heaven is love. |

I said, "no problem." I then told her a joke. I asked "What's the most effective way to remove sticky chewing gum from your hair?" She said, "I don't know." I replied "Cancer!" She started crying. Long story short, she had cancer. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77848945 I laughed harder at that than I should have. |
