Grocery store experience with manager yesterday

So I go in to buy some things I need and I see a police offer, on duty for the store, talking to the manager, who I needed to ask a question of.

At that time some guy walks by with 2 cases of water and the cop says, sir put one of those away. The guy looks at him and smiles, the cop starts walking towards him as he keeps on walking and says, I'm not joking put one away now!

Anyways, my change to ask the manager when they will be receiving an order, and if the sparse contents of the store is from the run on the store a few weeks ago or if a daily occurrence. The manager said no, they have not done a large order since the run, basically just small orders a few days at a time. He said the anticipate submitting the large order in the next week or two when the Guard is deployed and on scene. Took me about 15 seconds, and then, I was like WTF did you just say... I thanked him and walked away...
