He goes on to state that ventilators may still be needed but they need to be calibrated to a lower pressure. The ventilators are being improperly used because they are calibrated to treat ARDS. The patients he's treating don't have ARDS but protocols are dictating he treat them like they do.

Among similarly thinly-veiled veiled statements, he says explicitly that "you know the answer to what does happen (when someone goes on a ventiltor)." There's a hardcore attempt in this thread to discredit not only the OP but the doctor in the video.

For those of you who haven't seen the video(s) this good doctor put out, here is the gist of what he's saying.

- Doctors are using the ventilators in such a fashion as to treat symptoms of Acute respiratory distress syndrome. (ARDS) High pressure oxygen is pumped into the lungs forcing them open when the patient can no longer do this for themself.

-The patients this doctor is seeing aren't displaying typical ARDS symptoms but rather are displaying symptoms closer to pulmonary edema which is also called high altitude sickness. Pulmonary edema occurs when the alveoli fill up with excess fluid seeped out of the blood vessels in the lung instead of air. This can cause problems with the exchange of gas (oxygen and carbon dioxide), resulting in breathing difficulty and poor oxygenation of blood. Sometimes, this can be referred to as "water in the lungs" when describing the condition to patients. Basically, the patients are being starved of oxygen.

-This doctor states he believes the treatment protocols are incorrect and believes using the ventilators in a fashion as to treat ARDS actually damages the lungs of the patients he's treating and is actually making their condition worse.

-He states that it's difficult to change the protocols because the medical community assumes they are dealing with viral pneumonia when in fact he believes they are dealing with an entirely new disease that doesn't respond to ARDS treatment but is actually made worse by it.

- He states ventilators can still be of use but that they need to be recalibrated to treat the symptoms he's seeing properly.

-He asks other doctors for help in changing the protocols used in treating patients who as of now are being ventilated.

Let me try to explain it to you. He was not saying that ventilators are killing people. He is saying that once a person gets so bad in health that they require a ventilator to help TRY to keep them alive, their chances of beating the disease is less. It's not the ventilators killing the people it's the virus.
If the medicine will help keep the patient from reaching the point of needing a ventilator, THAT'S A GOOD THING, because they have a better chance at recovery at that point.
Look at it this way. If you get to the point where you are on a ventilator, you probably have a 50/50 chance of surviving, maybe less because the virus has really got a good grip on you. If the medicine keeps you from every having to get on a ventilator, it means the viral load is not as great in you and you have a much better chance of surviving this.

It's pretty simple common sense. How you can twist such reasoning into "the ventilators are killing people" is just moronic.

And just to add, It is my belief this good doctor is fighting the uphill battle of his life. The medical establishment cannot at any cost show their negligence here or it's the class action lawsuit to end all class action lawsuits. Not to mention there will be criminal charges for many. If this good doctor is correct and I believe he is, this is monumental.
