My town has also been selected. People are leery of what’s to come. Mostly worried about hundreds of covid cases being scurried in from scores of counties. First report said may be used for covid if the need arises, and then this report said it will be used for non covid patients. But yeah I’m more worried about the military thing here. From Redding north up into southern Oregon we are probably as conservative as you can get for cali- Oregonians. Not to say we aren’t severely infiltrated by loonie libs, but it really makes me wonder why we were selected for this freak show military , pandemic hospital thingy

I haven’t really looked into it so this is just a hunch but it appears that all the blue states are the ones that are setting up all these field hospitals, demanding thousands of respirators, enforcing very strict sheltering orders

I can’t remember where I heard it but our hospitals are under capacity at this point, who knows if all this is necessary but it is creating a lot of fear and panic which is the reason many of these hospitals are overwhelmed with patients at this point

In a parking lot across the street, crews and construction vehicles were in the late stages of standing up a small village of double-wide trailers containing rooms to temporarily house people who were tested at hospitals for COVID-19 and need an isolated place to await their results.

They have already proven that they don't even need an "army of contact tracers." Our cell phones are doing that for them. They just use the GPS data in our phones to determine where we've been and then they use the cell towers to ping others in our vicinity and track them as well.

Yes exactly this. Scary to think what they will do with this information.

I know. What's even scarier is that not only are people going to be okay with them using this information in the way that they are, but also that they will demand further impositions into our lives all in the name of stopping the pandemic or preventing another one.

Many comments I've seen on social media already prove this. Look at how much we've already relinquished in just a matter of a couple of weeks with very little push back or questions from citizens.

By the time all is said and done, the virus and the media will have terrified the hell out of everyone to the point of total submission.

One of the Detroit news papers the other day publish an article about cell phones keeping track of our whereabouts

It was such a happy upbeat article telling us how lucky we are that we have such technology

My husband's phone started giving him weird messages last weekend. Must have been an update to iphones. I think it's probably best to leave our phones at home if we have to go somewhere other than work.

It's amazing how quickly people fall into line with this. People want safety and don't think about the ramifications of what they are asking. I've certainly been guilty of falling into this trap myself at times.
