Louisiana: Personal Housing Units Staffed by the US Navy and Their Medical Teams
Okay I'm sure this is probably completely above board, but it's giving me chills...Any thoughts?

Convention Center field hospital gets thousands of beds

There will also be a new 250-patient facility across the street from the convention center for people who think they may have COVID-19 but whose test results have not come back yet, according to Sarah Babcock with the New Orleans Health Department.

“The space across the street from the convention center is called a personal housing unit, and this is an area for persons under investigation,”
said Babcock. “Those individuals have to be kept separate because if they turn out to be negative, we don’t want them with people who are positive. These are more individualized units with the same amount of attention someone inside the convention center would have. ”

The state of Louisiana has contracted out the medical staff for the convention center with wrap-around services from the state and city, according to Babcock. The facility across the street from the convention center will be staffed by the U.S. Navy and their medical teams.

U.S. Navy help give a tour of the Personal Housing Units (PHU) outside the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center amid the coronavirus pandemic in New Orleans, Saturday, April 4, 2020. The PHU is for people awaiting the results of their COVID-19 test and can't go home beforehand.

Will this be a voluntary stay?

Is this for the homeless?

Do they send a bill for this service?

If you go to Walmart and the Walmart greeter determines that you are running a fever, will you be sent to a personal housing unit?

Yes it does and then the mayor of Nola had this to say:

The mayor warned stricter enforcement is always a an option, but one she would rather not have to take.

"It should not take National Guardsmen to be in the streets of New Orleans," she said.

My town has also been selected. People are leery of what’s to come. Mostly worried about hundreds of covid cases being scurried in from scores of counties. First report said may be used for covid if the need arises, and then this report said it will be used for non covid patients. But yeah I’m more worried about the military thing here. From Redding north up into southern Oregon we are probably as conservative as you can get for cali- Oregonians. Not to say we aren’t severely infiltrated by loonie libs, but it really makes me wonder why we were selected for this freak show military , pandemic hospital thingy

We have something similar in Detroit

900-Bed Field Hospital Will Use 2 Floors At Detroit's TCF Center For Virus Patients

In related news, Macomb County executive Mark Hackel tells WWJ on Sunday that he's working with the Army Corps and Micchigan National Guard to identify potential sites for erecting a field hospital or retrofitting an existing location for patient care.

I haven’t really looked into it so this is just a hunch but it appears that all the blue states are the ones that are setting up all these field hospitals, demanding thousands of respirators, enforcing very strict sheltering orders

I can’t remember where I heard it but our hospitals are under capacity at this point, who knows if all this is necessary but it is creating a lot of fear and panic which is the reason many of these hospitals are overwhelmed with patients at this point

This is the kind of thing I'm worried about:

Tom Cotton's thoughts on how we should handle the situation:

The things the country must focus on over the next few weeks, he says, are building up production capacity for “rapid testing, respirator masks, [and] thermometer guns,” getting “personnel trained on contact tracing,” and developing “procedures and even laws at the local level for individual mandatory quarantines” for those infected with the virus.

More Katrina trailers?

In a parking lot across the street, crews and construction vehicles were in the late stages of standing up a small village of double-wide trailers containing rooms to temporarily house people who were tested at hospitals for COVID-19 and need an isolated place to await their results.

They have already proven that they don't even need an "army of contact tracers." Our cell phones are doing that for them. They just use the GPS data in our phones to determine where we've been and then they use the cell towers to ping others in our vicinity and track them as well.

I know. What's even scarier is that not only are people going to be okay with them using this information in the way that they are, but also that they will demand further impositions into our lives all in the name of stopping the pandemic or preventing another one.

Many comments I've seen on social media already prove this. Look at how much we've already relinquished in just a matter of a couple of weeks with very little push back or questions from citizens.

By the time all is said and done, the virus and the media will have terrified the hell out of everyone to the point of total submission.

It's amazing how quickly people fall into line with this. People want safety and don't think about the ramifications of what they are asking. I've certainly been guilty of falling into this trap myself at times.

Edit: sorry I messed up the quoting in this post. Tried to condense and didn't do a great job.
