These areas have critical mass, getting sick in the next 2 weeks could be a 5-15% chance of death depending on your age bracket if you should need to go to the hospital and the ICU is full. Most of the hospitals have regular beds for you to go to, but if you become critically ill, you may not have resources to keep you alive. This is the message they are trying to get to you. Most of america's hospitals are underused with plenty of room, these places are going to be able to keep most of you alive with a mortality rate less than 1%. Unless you become critically ill to the point that you actually need to be put on a ventilator you shouldn't even be at a hospital. You can do the same thing, bed rest till it passes at home for far less than the cost of going to a hospital. |

I live on some farmland in the countryside but there are some subdivisions that were built around a small older community nearby. Over the years I have worked at times in my yard on a daily basis when the weather permitted. Although the nearest store is 5 miles away, I have witnessed many of the same vehicles making multiple trips in a single day. I once had a neighbor tell me that he was going to town for the forth time in single day. So those people make a ten mile trip multiple times in a single day. Not too bright or adult-like if you ask me. Also, I mentioned this to another man that I knew who was in his late sixties (he did his share of things like that) and he said that most people would kill themselves if they weren't allowed to go out about like that a lot. Perhaps they ARE going to end-up killing themselves for that very reason. |
