I work in a state prison and ALL of my friends do. In fact, as a RN, my retirement is based off of my 3 best quarters, which right now is $146,000.

Actually it does. This is not factoring in the pension, call off policies and all other perks.
Now, in county JAILS, the pay is not the same. State is prison, federal is prison, county is jail.
County jails are more dangerous with employees having less training and making less.

I believe the video is authentic. However, the analysis of the guy filming this video is questionable.

First of all, he says the tent in the basketball court outside is where they put the dead bodies. I doubt that. The tent probably seems scary to him, but there are not dead bodies in the tent. Dead bodies would go into a refrigerated truck.

Next: Covid-19 is a bad case of the flu. His cell mates have the flu. Those who died (he said he knows of 3) died from a bad case of the flu. Old and sick will die from this flu.

And: He wants out on home release. Of course! Who would not want out of prison early given this situation. But, the Warden of the Prison has NOT given this thug the right to go home early with an ankle bracelet. Why not? Maybe because he belongs in prison.

It is terrifying to think that our own government is talking about making decisions to treat some patients and let other's die (or fend for themselves and then die).

That means that the homeless, the elderly (unless they're wealthy and pay a very high tax bill annually) and anyone considered undesirable by the republican right, will be ignored as much as they can get away with.

The elderly cost the government money in medicare payments and social security. The homeless, and those in prison are considered 'useless eaters' and because of their numbers, their very presence is offensive to the upstanding Republican Right. If you wonder what the elite think of such people, merely walking thru Pacific Heights and watch a homeless person even approach a well-dressed upper-class Pacific Heights couple. The utter disdain on the faces of the well-to-do soon tells the tale. The story is the same in NYC, Beverly Hills. The Elites want these 'undesirables' to die. And the sooner the better.

Our senators and congressmen, for the most part, have security provided by the government and are unapproachable by the average citizen. Oh you can make an appointment, allow the FBI and such to 'Vet you" and wait several weeks to see your senator or congressman. But should you walk up to them on the streets of NYC or Georgetown, you will be blocked in your efforts and if you dare to persist, you will be arrested or shot!

The Trump administration has tettered on the line between merely incompetent and murder in their handling of this Covid Crisis. The Trumpers consider the virus to be inconvenient to them personally while being in blessing in the vast numbers it can kill in a short period of time with never a shot being fired or a bomb being dropped.

most county jail corrections officers are deputy county sheriff/correctional officers;

they actually make pretty good money, this IS DIFFERENT than a state prison CO.

i barely missed this, i was released in february, i can't imagine how crazy it is in TDCJ (texas prison) right about now, by the grace of God things lined up just right for me to get out right before this hit... (did 3 years on a 15) non violent crime. (did exactly what i was supposed to in order to get out so early, went to college, had ZERO cases, participated in a 6 month drug rehabilitation program)
