The scam is quite easy. 1) Tell the uninsured patient that the government will pay all his treatment costs if he happens to have the COVID-19 virus, either by test or simply by symptoms. 2) Tell him that COVID-19 symptoms include a dry cough, sore throat, headache, and shortness of breath. 3) Ask him whether he has any of these symptoms. 4) He will probably answer Yes. But if he initially answers No, plead with him to reconsider. Emphasize that the hospital desperately needs this government money. 5) Eventually, he will say Yes. Hospitals rely on the fact that: - Bureaucrats will not bother to check reimbursement submissions thoroughly. - Even if they do, bureaucrats are 95% Democrats who believe that the federal government should pay for uninsured patients' health care anyway. - If a lone bureaucrat actually tries to blow the whistle, the mainstream media will attack him as a vile racist "meanie," and his career will be ruined.
